Striped Hyena Beasts
Description
Hyenas are hound-like creatures that can be found in the deserts and steppe regions of the map in Conan Exiles. They have long legs, a striped pelt, and a mane of fur on their neck that stretches to about their shoulders. While they are not considered highly dangerous to new players, it’s still best to avoid them whenever possible.
In-game Description
Where there are gazelles and antelopes you are sure to encounter hyenas as well. These snarling beasts have a tendency to hunt in packs, so stay vigilant. If you see one coming after you, you should expect at least one or two more to follow.
Combat Tips
Hyenas are very dangerous in packs and can inflict the Crippled status on players, making them a formidable opponent. They can be a decent pet option for new players, but they can be frustrating in groups. Hyenas usually appear in groups of 2 to 5, making them tough to fight. However, they can also be encountered alone and can be killed using a Stone Sword.
As Hyenas are faster than humans, it’s not recommended to engage with multiple Hyenas at a lower level. If faced with multiple Hyenas, players can outrun them through deep waters or between rocks or trees. Jumping off low cliffs is another option but not always reliable. It’s best to avoid Hyenas during the early stages of the game.
