Objectives

Follow the trail in search of Faolan
Head over to the area marked on the map and search in the South Umbralwood for the Warning Sign which will reveal the Abandoned Smuggler’s Den dungeon.

Follow Faolan into the Abandoned Smuggler’s Den
Run inside to find Faolan stood waiting for you. Interact with him to learn more about what happened. You will then need to fight Faolan as he turns into a giant werewolf Elite. He is Poison Enchanted and carries the Terrifying mod but generally, isn’t the most dangerous enemy. He will drop Faolan’s Confession upon death, which will give a little more insight into what transpired. You can also find a Letter to Brenna inside written by Dierdre before she was killed.
Return to Brenna
Now you know what happened, you can return to Brenna and give her the news. This will complete the quest and you will earn +20 Scosglen Renown.

In-Game Description

I found a woman, Brenna, crying over her daughter Dierdre’s body. She witnessed Dierdre’s husband, Faolan, committing the act. If I follow his trail, I might be able to avenge her.

The bloody trail led me to an old smuggler’s tunnel. Deirdre’s killer may be inside.

I caught up with Faolan in a hidden chamber to find he had been cursed – driven mad, then transformed into a beast. He gave me no choice but to kill him. I should return to Brenna, and tell her her daughter is avenged.
