Quincy Ruins Camps (Large)
Background / History
History:
Quincy, once a significant city in Massachusetts, held historical importance as the hometown of notable figures such as John Adams, John Quincy Adams, and John Hancock. Before the Great War, a contentious zoning plan resulted in the construction of an elevated interstate highway above the city’s main street. Post-war, Quincy’s ruins were resettled, thriving as a community with trade relations with other Commonwealth settlements. However, this prosperity attracted the attention of the Gunners, leading to conflict.
Quincy Massacre:
Mama Murphy’s precognitive abilities foresaw an impending Gunner assault on Quincy. Mayor Jackson, heeding her warning, sought aid from the Commonwealth Minutemen. Colonel Ezra Hollis led a Minutemen detachment to Quincy, successfully repelling the Gunner advance initially. However, lacking reinforcements, the Minutemen faced defeat. Clint, a former Minuteman turned Gunner, orchestrated a devastating assault on Quincy, resulting in the Quincy Massacre. Survivors, including Preston Garvey, fled, marking the downfall of the Minutemen in the region.
Gunner Control:
After the massacre, Clint assumed command of Quincy under Gunner control. The Gunners established a camp on the freeway overpass, ensuring strategic advantage. Despite internal challenges, such as troop disorderliness, Clint aimed to expand Gunner influence, targeting nearby locations like the Atom Cats garage.
