Position: YouTube Channel Manager and Video Producer

Overview: At Gamer Guides, we are on the lookout for an experienced YouTube Channel Manager and Video Producer who can play a pivotal role in expanding our channel’s subscriber base and viewership. This position calls for someone who can not only set the tone and style to distinguish our brand and content from others in the same niche but can also consistently create engaging infotainment-style videos. Working closely with our founders and fellow content creators, you’ll have the opportunity to shape our channel’s content strategy.

Your role will encompass a wide range of tasks, including but not limited to:

1. Content Creation: You will be responsible for requesting gaming footage from our content team, crafting compelling scripts, and discovering unique angles to ensure that our content is both captivating and informative.

2. Setting Standards: As a trailblazer in this role, you’ll establish the standards that future video editors may follow if they join our team. Your expertise will help maintain consistency and quality in our video productions.

3. Independence and Determination: We require someone who can work independently, display unwavering determination to achieve results, and be willing to put in the necessary hours – especially during busy launch weekends – to create the content vital for our company’s growth and community building.

4. Marketing and Engagement: Promoting our video content is crucial, and you’ll be expected to engage with various platforms such as Discord, Reddit, Facebook, and more to build your personal brand and boost Gamer Guides’ video content.

5. Collaboration: Effective communication and collaboration are key. You’ll work closely with stakeholders on Slack, providing regular updates to management to keep everyone aligned and informed.

6. Mentoring and Direction: Your role will extend to mentoring and providing guidance to other aspiring video creators within our content team. You’ll help them align with our video strategy and branding, fostering a collaborative environment where creativity can thrive.

Responsibilities

Content Production and Editing:

• Create both short and long-form content for Gamer Guides’ YouTube channel and potentially TikTok.
• Edit gameplay footage from our internal team.
• Record personal video footage when necessary for content.
• Back up essential media clips to the company’s shared Google Drive.

Audience Engagement and Community Building:

• Actively engage with our audience on various platforms, including comments, social media, and the website.
• Foster a sense of community and help build positive interactions and relationships with our audience.
• Moderate comments and interactions on social media and YouTube to maintain a positive environment.

Strategic Contributions and Brand Consistency:

• Collaborate with management to develop and execute the overall growth plan and content strategy.
• Establish a consistent brand style through editing and support team members in maintaining this style.
• Generate and present key metric growth summaries using tools like YouTube Analytics and VidIQ.
• Identify opportunities for cross-promotion with other gaming-related channels or partners.

Personal Development and Innovation:

• Stay informed and up-to-date on relevant games through active participation in gaming outside of work hours.
• Keep abreast of industry trends, game releases, and gaming community news.
• Contribute innovative ideas and concepts to keep the channel distinct.
• Continuously build your personal profile as a video editor and industry professional.
• Stay updated on the latest video editing techniques and software tools.

Team Expansion, Promotion, and Business Growth:

• Promote videos on platforms such as Reddit, Discord, Steam, Twitter, and Facebook when relevant.
• Explore opportunities for monetizing content through ads, sponsorships, or merchandise.
• Dedicate efforts to enhance Gamer Guides’ presence and success on YouTube and other relevant video channels.
• Focus on achieving consistent, long-term channel growth.
• Assist in building and leading a video team in case of substantial channel growth.

Work Schedule, Compensation, and Benefits:

• Maintain a Monday to Friday 9-5 work schedule, or similar, with flexibility to connect with the UK team earlier if possible.
• Very occasionally set aside time on weekends for high-priority AAA game releases.
• Remote work / Flexible working schedule.
• From time to time, Gamer Guides may provide essential hardware and software resources, such as external storage, software licenses, recording hardware, upon request at management’s discretion.

• Ensure compliance with copyright laws and licensing agreements for music, graphics, and game content.
• Optimize video titles, descriptions, and tags for search engine visibility.
• Stay updated on YouTube algorithm changes to maximize video reach.
• Develop a regular plan to ensure a steady flow of content.
• Coordinate release schedules to align with gaming releases, events, holidays, or trends.
