You'll fight Pavine at the end of the Northern Territory of Sohma area, on your first visit there. He can be a challenging boss fight, due to his high damage, normal enemies that accompany him, and a twist that happens later on in the fight. The first thing you need to do is defeat all of the regular enemies, as they might try to gang up on Miki, who you will needed during the fight to heal your wounds. Keep an extra eye on everyone's health and if needed, toss out a healing item if things get too hairy.

Once you've taken them out, you can now concentrate on Pavine. He has a lot of health and some particularly nasty moves.

Lightning Blast - Fires a beam of lightning (wind-element) straight in front of him
Wind Blade - The same as Fiore's spell; fires a "blade" of wind that goes straight
Redeployment - Allows Pavine to teleport around the battlefield
Ignition Burst - Machine-gun fire on a single target
Ignitiion X - Tosses out grenades that explode shortly after hitting ground
Ignition Y - Causes an explosion in front of him

It isn't until his health is under 50% and after a short scene that things become dangerous, as Miki and Relia get taken out of the battle. Since no one else has healing spells, you will need to rely on items to replenish your HP. It's a good idea to use an item whenever anyone's HP gets below half, so they don't get too close to the brink of death. Pavine doesn't have any new moves in this stage, so it'll still be the same battle as before. If you were saving a Reserve Rush, it's a good idea to pull it off in the latter half of the fight.
