Kingdom Come: Deliverance

Keeping the Peace

By
Scott Peers

Your first duty in assisting the town guard is to join Jaroslav the watchman, also known as Nightingale, on patrol between 11:00 and 19:00. Once you have picked up the armour from the lower room of the armoury, you can find Nightingale in the grounds of the church.

Speak to one of the guards in the lower armoury to pick up the armour for patrol duty.

When you speak to Nightingale he will ask you to follow him on patrol, during which he will provide you with a brief tour of Rattay. Along the way you will encounter a dispute between the Rattay weaponsmith and a beggar from Skalitz called Jane. Your first task is to resolve the dispute in a way which keeps both people relatively satisfied, however this will depend on your own role play sensibilities.

Resolve the dispute by suggesting a way that both Jane and the weaponsmith can come to a reasonable agreement.

After some time you will find yourself at the tavern. Nightingale will ask if you want to have a game of Farkle, the rules for which are contained within the mini game. If you would rather not play, you can decline and wait for night to fall.

Sit with Nightingale and decide whether or not you want to play a game of Farkle with him.

As night falls you will be asked to ring the bell at the Rathaus to signify the ending of the day and the closing of shops. Be sure to hold your torch as you walk through Rattay to avoid a scolding from fellow guards.

Ring the bell by the Rathaus to signify the ending of the day. It is located on the wall just outside the Armourer shop.

The last duty of the day is to ensure the closing of the Trader’s Tavern by the market square, a place where some customers are reluctant to leave. This time it is a special customer; Sir Hans Capon.

(1 of 2) After a brief cut scene in which Henry fails to convince Sir Hans Capon to leave the tavern, a fight ensues.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an open-world RPG set in the last throes of the Middle Ages. The year is 1403 and the Kingdom of Bohemia is about to be plunged into turmoil. Henry, a resdient of the castle town Skalitz, is the son of a renowned blacksmith. When Skalitz is attacked, both of his parents are killed by the invading forces of Hungarian King Sigismund, led by Sir Markvart von Aulitz. Henry’s quest then becomes your own; to exact vengeance upon those who destroyed his hometown, friends and family. Along the way, Henry finds himself embroiled in the affairs of the great lords in the region. Rather than give in to the hatred fueled by the death of his boyhood, Henry decides to become a man and help in any way that he can against the ramifications of the assault on Skalitz.
