Fortress		Shots increase your current armor and resistance by 5%, stacking up to three times. At maximum stacks, the buff is doubled and additionally grants 20% damage increase for 10 seconds.

Over the years, the mod has changed quite a bit. In the base game, the mod was all about adding scaling damage based on your armor value, making it largely a Devastator-only sought mod. However, it changed in New Horizon, becoming what it is today, albeit with a 30% damage increase, rather than a 20% damage mo, nerf heading into Wordslayer.

However, the mod’s damage boost is still incredibly strong, and it is easy to apply Fortress to any build in the game. So much so that this appears to be one of the best mods in the entire game.

How to get the Fortress mod in Outriders Worldslayer¶

Unlike any of the news weapon mods in Outriders Worldslayer, Fortress drops from the Deathshield in the base game. There is thankfully a way to farm this mod for your character. All you need to do is make a new character, boost it to Worldslayer, then send over some purples from a main of yours through the stash and let your new character dismantle it. Use the Titanium to convert into drop pod resources, and continue to cycle through Tiago’s Vendor until you get your hands on the Deathshield. The Deathshield is the only weapon in the base game that guarantees the Fortress mod on it. You can get the Fortress mod on any new or old weapons in the Worldslayer Apocalypse gear system. We managed to get the new Thunderclap weapon with Fortress on it. You can then use the weapon with Fortress on it or mod it onto a weapon yourself if things don’t quite go your way.
