Thanks to their newfound friendship with Richard, Asbel decides to bring him over to Lhant Hill. Of course, things aren’t so simple, as something goes wrong and you end up facing off with the first true boss of the game.

You can discover the Spring of Healing during this visit to Lhant Hill.

While we’ve already cleared out this area you may not have gotten the Magic Carta No. 4 from the sparkling points on your last visit, so if needed you can get that now. Make sure to talk to the two guards near Lhant Hill to get an Apple Gel, after which you can then enter Lhant Hill.

You can now discover the Spring of Healing, which you have probably used multiple times, and when ready head for the meadow where we met Sophie, where you will technically encounter the first true boss of the game! Make sure you save your game here, before entering the meadow, and keep this save separate from the others, simply because of an attached trophy/achievement.

Bryce Boss Guide¶

Bryce is actually a push-over considering how much of a show he put on back at the manor, though this does not mean you can destroy him and you should be careful. Use your guarding effectively and combo your attacks with Sophie for damage. If you’re lucky, he won’t use any of his Artes on you. Note that Sophie can heal, so if you get thrashed a little, back off and give her a chance to heal you.

Bryce is the first boss of the game that has a trophy/achievement attached to him, which requires beating him within 60 seconds. This is definitely the easiest of the 60 seconds trophies/achievements, due to the boss being pretty simple. He doesn’t really seem to have much of a moveset, nor does he do a whole lot of blocking/has armor to stop your attacks. Being aggressive is ideal here, only stopping to replenish your CC or to heal.

Note that while you can use the Grade Shop to help a little bit, doing it on New Game+ won’t really help you, as you cannot use any Titles or anything else that’s inherited during the Childhood Arc. If you are really having trouble with the trophy/achievement, set the difficulty to Easy, as well as use the Damage x2/5 Grade Shop options.
