A video showing how to defeat the Volcanic Talus, a mini-boss fought at the end of the Summit Cave.
To actually enter the Summit Cave, you must complete the Eldin Temple to remove the rift. Then you may need to speak to Darston inside Goron City. Afterwards, you can find Darston in front of an open doorway inside the Summit Cave.
The Volcanic Talus is an upgraded version of the Seismic Talus. Initally, the same strategy applies. So wait for an opening and use Bind to pull its core away from its body.
At the halfway point, its body will gain more fire and it will become more dangerous. You need to put out the flames with water. Hydrozols seemed to work best for us.
After the Talus's entire body returns to normal, its hands will get stuck in the ground during its slamming attack. That's your best chance to pull the core away. If you try during other times, the Talus moves too fast.
Beware that after some time passes, the flames will automatically return to its body. So try not to dilly dally.
To speed up the fight, we used a Darknut Lv. 3. You can easily do this with Sword Mode, but your gauge may run out about halfway to two thirds in. Having smoothies that replenish gauge would help.
