So... how do you get the Commissars hat if you kill Malice? I have him imprisoned but if I execute the commissar he doesn't have it on his body.

I appreciate you going through and finding those options. I'll be real: I think my player character had like 0% chance of passing either of those options, so I wasn't able to discover it that way. This genuinely feels like one of those actual dialogue checks that might actually lead to a few different outcomes.

And yeah, I think I reported about 20 bugs in this chapter, and the devs had to fix my save by the start of chapter 4 during the review process. The last boss of chapter 3 was bugged to the point she somehow had Exemplar talents that restored 20% of her wounds per turn, and fully healed once she got to 50% HP, had a free turn, and skipped my current character's turn. Checked other reviewers who did the fight and they were not dealing with that :P Think I had to bring the game down to story mode to beat it lol.

Appreciate you going through and finding that. I actually found another way to get it is by using the persuade option (or coerce) intially with argenta and then do the dialogue where you call him a traitorous cur, say there's one problem I survived, he'll then talk about making a deal with you. If you say 'you owe me, pay up' He'll then give you his hat (I only found this out by seeing the dialouge triggers with the toybox mod). You can then also attack him at any point, although there's no option to convince his men that he's full of shit, at that point.

It's pretty dumb you need to go for such specific dialog options to solve this without combat and to get his hat which he should always drop once killed. You think the persuade or coerce option would lead to being able to convince his soldiers, not just the say nothing option which seems too passive to me. Hope Owlcat gives this section a repass at some point. Act 3 is already a buggy mess as is.

I've updated the text. I wrote up the wrong choice from my footage. It has been corrected. Select option 4 - do nothing, and then option 1 when you get new options. My apologies for this.

Sorry mate, I wrote the wrong choice up in my footage. Joys of skipping through 4 hour long recordings and missing tiny moments. :| You need to select Option 4 - Say Nothing, and then 0ption 1 in the next dialogue option. Again, my apologies for the error.

I've tried literally ever option and it always triggers a fight, where he doesn't drop the cap as loot

After the 1st arena fight? I went back to the pit, met the Commissar again, choose option 3. "argenta execute this duplicitous scum" which leads immediately into a fight. I win the fight and the commissar is now locked up in a cage. When I go to the throne and survey surroundings option there are two options to execute him. Both the dogmatic and regular execute options don't give me the hat and it's not on his lootable body. I'm kind of at a loss here!

Hey pal. So i selected the dialogue option where you let Argenta sentence the Commissar to death when you return to the Pit from the arena, and when his men interfere, you make an announcement that the Commissar is a traitor. His men should turn on him, and in the dialogue box you get the Iem Received: Commissar Cap.

In the grim dark future of the 41st millennium, there is only war. The Imperium of Man, ruled by God-Emperor of Mankind from atop his Golden Throne, is a vast interstellar empire with countless armies. Despite the Imperium’s apparent strength, however, its enemies are even more numerous and threats to mankind both surround the Imperium and gnaw at it from within. Where the constantly strained military might of the Imperium can’t reach, humanity must find other champions, and blessed with holy Warrants of Trade, Rogue Traders have almost unlimited authority to operate in the unconquered reaches of the galaxy beyond the Imperium’s direct influence. After unexpectedly inheriting the title of Rogue Trader von Valancius, you’ll have to secure your holdings in the Koronus Expanse, establish and develop new colonies, investigate the conspiracy that led to your ascension and fend off threats, internal and externals, humans, xenos and worse…
