The main story begins from the perspective of Ikaros, an eagle companion to your character, with a panoramic view of Kephallonia, the home Isle of Alexios / Kassandra. Your first objective is to defeat two opponents sent by Cyclops. You should have no trouble here; simply follow the combat hints as you get to grips with the system.
Once you have defeated the messengers of Cyclops you will encounter your first experience of dialogue. Note that you have multiple options in each interaction. The choices you make will not always impact the progression of the story, but they may have consequences related to how you are perceived by specific characters, including bounty hunters later on in the game. For the most part, dialogue options reflect either a compassionate or merciless response to your situation.
Once you have decided what to say to the messengers, you will be prompted to collect your armour from a chest at the top of your house. Open the chest and equip the armour by entering the inventory. With the armour equipped you can now make your way to Markos in the southern part of Mount Ainos. As you do, be sure to explore some of the undiscovered locations along the way to earn XP and gather loot.
As you approach Markos’ vineyard you will automatically explore the region and earn 30 XP. At this point you can summon your eagle, Ikaros, to gain perspective of the lay of the land. Use Ikaros to identify the precise location of Markos, and then continue on to him. When you reach Markos a cut scene will initiate, ending in the opportunity for you to choose one of three horses. At this point they are different only in appearance, though he claims that they are bred for specific purposes.
Once you have chosen the horse that you want the quest will complete and a villager will appear, leading on to the next quest, ‘Debt Collector’.
