Persona 5

About the Game

By
Jarrod Garripoli

Persona 5 is a role-playing game that was developed by Atlus and initially released on September 15, 2016 in Japan. It was supposed to come out in February in the west, but was delayed to April 4 to enhance the localization. The game is not a direct sequel to any of the other games in the series, but it does have some references and easter eggs here and there for fans. The game was released on both the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4.

The protagonist gets into some trouble and now has a criminal record, so his parents send him to Tokyo to live with an acquaintance, Sojiro Sakura, to live out his probation. He goes to Shujin Academy, where he meets a friend named Ryuji Sakamoto, and ends up in another world, where he awakens to some supernatural powers that allows him to summon something called a Persona. With this power, he takes it upon himself, with help from his friends, to reform the crooked adults of society.
