Raid Mode is a minigame in Resident Evil Revelations 2 which was also a part in the original Revelations but this time around is much bigger with many more stages, characters and whatnot. This is the “fast paced” mode in Resident Evil Revelations 2 and its quite good. You’ll be spending more time playing Raid Mode than the actual Campaign so that must tell you something.

You take control of Cipher, some sort of hologram that’s testing the Red Queen Alpha program, run by the Overseer. There’s a variety of characters to choose from, or rather skins for Cipher so she can look like them. Your main objective in each mission is to basically get the medal at the end of the stage, but in order to do so you need to fulfill whichever objective you’re given for the mission.

You start out in your HUB, which is a small room with a couple colored doors and a chair with chains in the center. The following are pictures with a brief explanation of their use.

You can see the chair on the left which is where you start and you examine the same chair to leave Raid Mode.

This desk behind the chair has three objects for you to interact:

  • The one on the left is a book explaining you every single detail of Raid Mode. Pretty neat if you have any questions about Raid Mode.
  • The central piece, the phonograph allows you to listen to the messages left to you by the Overseer.
  • The telephone on the other hand allows you to shop, both in game and online so you don’t have to worry about looking in the store for whatever you need.

Now these are the good parts of the HUB and are as follow. The picture on the left:

  • The toolbox on the left side allows you to combine two of the same parts (for the weapons) to create one of higher level. You can only get access to it after completing Gauntlet II.

  • The Workbench on the right allows you to customize your weapons to your liking, just like in the campaign. Read its dedicated section for more information.
The picture on the right has:

  • On the left is the mannequin, which allows you to “dress up” your character with whichever skin you like. It also allows you to change currently equipped weapons and skills, as well as gestures.

  • On the right is the Jukebox, which allows you to evaluate albums found in missions. This vary from weapon parts to weapons themselves, as well as levels and whatnot.

  • The large Red Door on the left allows you to do your normal Main Missions and Daily / Event Missions.
  • The smaller Blue Door on the right allows you to do Co-op missions with random people or friends.
  • The Clipboard next to the Blue Door shows the ranking you have and those from the rest of the world.
