Rescue the Hostages

This Mongol Territory is not available until you finish Act 1 and the Mongols retaliate. You’ll find Aoi Village to the far southwest of the region and this is another outpost that requires you to rescue three hostages and this is one of the easier ones due to everything being a bit closer together. This may be the first time you run into a Mongol Eagle, these birds will fly around and alert any Mongols of your presence so be sure to take it out with an arrow if you spot one.

The first hostage can be found near to the entrance of the village along with said eagle, take it out and then head into the nearby house to slay the rest of the Mongols and free the hostage. Continue to the beach to the southeast to spot the next hostage, this one is out in the open so be sure to pick off the two eagles and a few of the Mongols patrolling before going in and clearing the rest out. The final hostage will require you to be quick, it’s likely that the Mongols in the center of the village have been alerted by one of the many eagles so rush over and protect him, making use of Smoke Bombs and Kunai to aid you. Not only will you receive the usual rewards, you’ll obtain the Key of Aoi which is needed for the Unbreakable Gosaku Mythic Tale.

(1 of 2) Eagles will alert any nearby Mongols

Eagles will alert any nearby Mongols (left), you may need to rush over to the center and protect the final hostage. (right)
