Searching the Depths¶
Focus will switch over to King Mickey and Riku who are searching the Dark World for any signs of Master Aqua, a Keyblade wielder lost in the Dark World ten years ago. Following the cutscenes, you’ll gain control of Riku against a formidable foe.
Boss: Demon Tower¶
You may be familar with this foe if you played Kingdom Hearts 2.8 as Aqua where it featued as her final boss. This nasty collection of Heartless is no pushover but neither is Riku who comes equipped with the -aga tier spells along with Curaga. Keep on the move throughout the battle and save your MP for a cast of Curaga should you need it. Building up the Form Gauge is a great way of dealing heavy damage, the Double Duel ability will shred off lots of HP from the Demon Tower.
You’ll find yourself constantly hit by the Demon Tower regardless of how adept you are at a dodging but note that Riku has access to the Air Recovery skill. By pressing the [CIRCLE]/[B] button following damage while in the air, you can regain control of your character and dart back into the battle. The Demon Tower has no exceptional attacks of note save for physically attacking you but it does attack quickly. If it dives into the ground, dodge around the battlefield until it resurfaces, if you’re under it you will take major damage. Finally, note that Riku also has a Hi-Potion and a Hi-Ether on him should you need them in an emergency.
Following the defeat of the Demon Tower and the many cutscenes that follow you will obtain the Dream Heartbinder containing your first Summon and Kingdom Hearts II.9 will come to close.
