Stealth Inc is a game about being a speedy shadow on your way to the exit (and trying not to get spotted in the process). There’s no health bars here; as one hit from an enemy or a hazard and you’re immediately turned into a sploshy pile of red goo.

Your goal is to complete each test chamber by solving the various puzzles and, in turn, open up the exit to the next test chamber. To help you, chambers are filled with varying levels of light and shadow and it’s this that you need to use to your advantage as you dodge, weave and trick your way past the enemies and traps that are doing their best to stop you.

As a visual aid to how visible you are at any given moment, your goggles will be a specific colour and it’s this colour that tells you how easily you can be spotted.

  • Fully Visible (Red Goggles and Text): Enemies and cameras can see you without any problems! Move, move, move!
  • Partially Visible (Amber Goggles and Text): You’ll ‘alert’ enemies to your presence but they haven’t locked on to you. Note: An enemy can still spot you and this will count against the ‘Spotted’ total for the S-Rank grade.
  • Not Visible (Green Goggles and Text): You can stand in front of an enemy and its vision cone and it’ll not know you’re there. The safest way to be running around a text chamber.

As you make your way around each test chamber towards the exit, you’ll need to do more than just run left or right. There are a number of key techniques you’ll need to learn and master if you’re going to make it to the end in one piece.

Ledge Grabbing

Pretty much any platform can be grabbed on to allowing you to do a variety of movements: hang off of it, pull yourself back up again (by pressing up), drop down (by pressing down or crouch) or jump off of (press in the opposite direction of where you’re facing to ‘reach out’, then press jump to head where you where pointing).

Be careful when you’re jumping from ledge to ledge as if you’re too quick you can miss-time the jump and not grab onto a ledge fully.

Crouching

Crouching allows you to sneak through smaller gaps, and hide in smaller shadows, but you can’t move as fast. Simply hold down the crouch button and move either left or right to walk through a narrow gap.

The Slingshot Jump

If you press jump whilst moving upwards on a lift, you’ll have that lift’s upwards speed added to your own as you jump. This allows you to jump really high ( much higher than usual). Whilst this isn’t needed early on, it becomes something essential during later levels (and many hidden Helices require this technique to be mastered to reach them).
