Welcome to the Luncheon Kingdom, which is a little bit brighter than past ones. See all of that pink liquid? Treat it as lava and you should be fine, as it will deal one point of damage for each time you touch it. Take a look around for a bit and you should see some things that can be collected, like a moon above a salt pile high up in the air to the southeast. There are also three purple coins just a tad bit above the pink lava in the same direction, and there’s a giant ear of corn to the north, which leads to one of those female Goombas.
To start off, start by capturing a Goomba and making the stack that’s four tall. Make your way towards the corn you saw prior to this, avoiding the Magmatos. These enemies will damage Mario if he touches them, but tossing Cappy at them will force them to turn into a puddle of “lava.” That lava will turn out to be useful in a few moments, but just avoid them for now. Jump onto the corn and get on the one side to make it start rolling. You will want to start running in the opposite direction of its roll, since you don’t want to fall off. Once you get to the end, stand in front of the female Goomba to get a Power Moon (Love Above the Lava) .
From the platform with the female Goomba, you should be able to get on the ledge above by wall jumping and then diving onto it. There are a few things you can do up here, like do one of the timed challenges. The scarecrow for this is close to the Odyssey and all you have to do is wall jump to get to the Power Moon; the timer is pretty lenient for this one, so there’s no worry about the timer (Luncheon Kingdom Timer Challenge 1) . Get to the edge of this ledge by the Odyssey and move your camera around to spot three purple coins in a little section. You will need to do a little hop down and then toss your hat or something to get inside to grab them (3) .
Return to the upper ledge and head east this time, jumping over the gap and onto the slanted section. When you reach the salt up here, look over the ledge to see a smaller spot you can drop to below (not the colored platform, but on the southern side). There will be a Power Moon in this little alcove (Lurking in the Pillar’s Shadow) . To get back onto the ledge above, you need to back flip and wall jump off the pillar portion, then perform a hat throw/dive to the ledge. Once you do this, nab the three purple coins (6) to the southeast and the Power Moon at the end, on the salt (Piled on the Salt) .
Hop down to the main area and look for the path that would take you straight to the boss fight with the Broodals. There will be a new enemy here that pops out of the lava every now and then, called a Lava Bubble. Capture the Lava Bubble, but don’t go towards the boss yet. Instead, jump on top of one of the Magmatos to act as a “bridge” to clear the land. The reason for this is that because going on land with the Lava Bubble will make it disappear. Lava Bubbles can jump with B, dash with the left stick and Y, as well as dash faster by shaking the controller. The only real thing you can do with it, though, is head through the small hole in the western wall, go south around the bend and get those three purple coins you likely saw at the beginning (9) .
Make your way to the arena now to have a rematch with one of the Broodals, Spewart Broodal to be precise. He is not any different to your last battle with him, as he pretty much has the exact same moves. You can get a quicker defeat on Spewart by jumping on him whenever he spins around after dealing damage. Once you deal three points of damage, you will be able to get the moon (The Broodals Are After Some Cookin’) and open up the next section of the kingdom.
