Grand Theft Auto III - The Definitive Edition

Police Vigilante

By
Shane Williams

For information on The Definitive Edition, visit Police Vigilante

Here, you’ll have to find the targeted criminal(s) on the radar and kill them. Simple enough, right? I doubt it. Not only will you still gain Wanted levels (hint: VIGILANTE), but these criminals often can be in fast cars or have powerful weaponry (or both).

You can go about killing them a few ways:

  • Run into them or shoot them with the Rhino.
  • Drive-by them to death.
  • Randomly ram into them and hope for something to work.
  • Pause and un-pause the game when near them to make them exit their car.

You’ll also be forced to be on a timer. You must kill the criminals in that amount of time. You must also be in a cop car of some sort and cannot be out of one for no more than sixty seconds before failing.

You’ll get money as you kill criminals and get “streaks” of five, earning you some bonuses. Additionally, for each ten killed, you’ll get a Police Bribe at your hideout.

However, you can only obtain two per island of the game. In other words, you’ll need to kill twenty criminals on Portland, twenty on Staunton, and twenty on Shoreside to get all six Bribes.
