Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - The Definitive Edition

Gang Tag Locations 1-20

By
Jarrod Garripoli

Gang Tags are first introduced in the story mission, Tagging Up Turf. They are rival gang tags that you can spray paint over with your own gang’s tag. In order to do this, you’re going to need a spray paint can, with there being one given to you during the mission above. If you run out, though, then you can get another can on top of the building behind your house. You simply need to climb onto the roof of the house in between Sweet’s and yours via a wall in the back, then jump onto your garage and then house. It’ll be easy to grab the spray paint can from there. There is also a spray can in the one room upstairs in CJ’s house. The tags are only found in Los Santos.

(1 of 3) You will find Tags throughout Los Santos

Gang Tag 1

This tag is part of the mission, Tagging Up Turf. It is a tutorial on how to spray paint over rival Gang Tags and Sweet will actually do it for you.

Gang Tag 2

This tag is part of the mission, Tagging Up Turf. It is on the building directly across the street from the first one.

Gang Tag 3

This tag is part of the mission, Tagging Up Turf. It will be in the alleyway behind the previous house.

Gang Tag 4

This tag is part of the mission, Tagging Up Turf. After driving to the second spot in the mission, Sweet will drop you off in front of a building with a big mural of a woman on the side of it. The tag will be on that same wall of that building.

Gang Tag 5

This tag is part of the mission, Tagging Up Turf. Just north of there is an alleyway, so head down it and you should see another tag on the one wall there, with two Ballas in front of it.

Gang Tag 6

This tag is part of the mission, Tagging Up Turf. Head to the next blip on the map, which will put you right in front of a small fence. Press the Square button while next to it to climb over it. Do the same thing with the slightly higher fence, then use the piece of the building to climb onto the roof. The tag will be on the one wall up here on the roof.

Head north of Grove Street, to the Cluckin’ Bell that’s in East Los Santos, which will be the landmark for a few of the tags here. Just east of the Cluckin’ Bell, there is a white-colored building that has a large billboard sticking out of the top of it. On the south side of the building is a parking lot, so head in there and look for the small fence that’s connected to the building. Hop over this small fence and you should see the tag right there.

Just north of the previous one, there will be a carwash on the western side of the next little block. Run through the carwash to find it opening up to a slightly larger area. There is a little pedestrian tunnel here and the tag will be in that tunnel.

Gang Tag 9

(1 of 3) Tag #9 on the map

After painting the previous tag, take the stairs to the north to get back up to street level. There should be a series of houses on your left, with two billboards to the north of them. Follow this street north until you see an alleyway on your right. Go down that alleyway and you should see the tag on the wall right in front of you.

Gang Tag 10

This one is in the same alley as #9, but on the opposite wall.

One block east of the previous set of two tags, you can find more alleyways, so head down that set and go south when you can. As the alleyway opens up a little bit, you will find the tag on the wall on the north side.

Near the previous gang tag, look for the large building with two giant smokestacks. Go down the curvy street on the eastern side of that building and you will find the tag on the wall of the building itself, on that side.

You should be just north of the stadium after the previous tag. Head south from the previous tag, following the road, past the Saints Boulevard sign, then head east until you see the pedestrian cross to your north. There will be a little parking lot on the left side of the walkway. Go into the parking lot and keep going until you see the tag on the wall of the one building, underneath the fire escape.

Return to the main road and head north, until you can turn left onto another street. There will be a spiral parking garage here, with the tag being on the wall right inside the garage.

Gang Tag 15

From the previous tag, go west to the next street, then north. Follow this street north a little bit, until you come to a building with two sets of stairs in front of it. Go up the northern set of stairs and the tag will be right there on the wall.

Gang Tag 16

(1 of 3) Tag #16 on the map

Return to the street on the eastern side now and follow it to the north, keeping an eye out for some houses that eventually stop. At the northern end here, you can climb on top of the garage, so do that. Walk on top of the houses, going south, until you drop off a ledge, then turn around and look at the wall to find the tag.

You will want to go back to the north-south street just west of the one you previously used for the last tag. You can do that by using the bendy road that connects them. As soon as you reach that intersection, continue west and look for the large, beige-colored building just south of the rows of houses. The tag will be on the wall of the white building, on the western side.

Gang Tag 18

If you see the rows of houses just north of the beige building, go to the northern end of them to find this tag on the back wall there.

Gang Tag 19

(1 of 3) Tag #19 on the map

This next one is a little tricky to find, but there is a bridge nearby that brings you north and on the southern end of the bridge is the Golden Palms apartment complex. This will be right next to the rows of apartments/houses as the above two tags. There is a little walkway on the side of the Golden Palms, which stops at a waist-high wall. Jump over the wall to find yourself on a little grassy area, where you will see the tag on the wall.

Gang Tag 20

(1 of 2) Tag #20 on the map

After collecting the last tag, cross the bridge from before and take the road to the north to wind up back on the eastern set of highways. As soon as you reach the westernmost street, look south to spot two tall buildings right there. Just south of them will be two normal sized houses. The tag will be on the northern wall of the second house from those two tall buildings.
