Niblets can be found all over Nova Chrysalia and frequently drop Hairballs. Simply kill enough so you have 6 (and save them) then return them to the Canvas board.

Liquid Glass is a common drop from Meonektons. These beasts replace other monsters during the hours of 04:00 - 06:00 every day. They can be a grind to kill on Day 1 and may be left until you are much stronger. You will encounter many so don’t go out of your way.

This quest will probably not be able to be completed until fairly late in the game once you have killed nearly all Niblets and Gremlins. Do not go out of your way because you should have killed enough during the natural course of the game. The Ether reward is best left to acquire during the latter days when you need it most.
