Manor Lords’ commodities feature contains a list of items that citizens will love having access to, and give you big approval ratings for it. One of these items are Clothes, which you citizens will love trading at Market Stalls. However, the process of getting Clothes in Manor Lords is long-winded. To make Clothes, you will need to get a Tailor with reliable access to Dyes and Linen. You can also trade raw materials as clothes too at Marketplaces, which help to diversify stock for your citizens. Here’s everything you need to know to achieve those goals.
Crafting Clothes in Manor Lords¶
To get clothes in Manor Lords, you are going to need to have access to the following:
- Tailor Burgage Plot
- Dyes
- Linen
To start things off - make sure you have a level 2 Burgage Plots with an extension, and construct the Tailor’s Workshop. It costs 5 Regional Wealth and 5 Planks to craft. Once that’s built, clock on the Tailor building, and now select the general tab. This will allow you to select what clothes to make. Pick the Clothes option and ignore the Cloak and Gambeson option for now.
Now you have your core setup, you need to get 1 Linen and 1 Dye per piece of clothing your tailors craft. You can opt to buy clothes if you so wish, but be aware that the price of clothes is fairly expensive. It’s much better to become self-sufficient with crafting clothing and have your Markets benefit, with the option to sell spare clothes on later for a profit. This will guarantee that you can keep your Burgage Plots happy and your Approval Rating high. We have more advise on getting the reagents used for making clothes below.
Getting Linen¶
To get Linen, you need the following requirements:
- Flax
- Weaver Workshop
Flax is a material you can grow and harvest at a Farm. Look for growing areas good for Flax using the in-game overlay, and get your Farmers to produce Flax. The Flax is then converted into Linen at a Weaver Workshop, which is a building found in the industry crafting menu.
Getting Dyes¶
As for dye, you need the following items and industry buildings.
- Berries
- Dyers Workshop
Berries are gathered either by buying them at a Trading Post, or gathered from a Foragers Hut during growing seasons. Berries are fairly limited in each region, so you may need to purchase more Berries for the Dyers and food market stalls. Alternatively you can get the Forest Management development to double up on berries during the growing season. When you have spare berries, have someone work a Dyer’s Workshop, as it will convert them into Dyes to be refined into items at a Tailors.
Other Sources of Clothes¶
It’s also worth mentioning that Clothing Market Stalls will trade raw resources. These are treated as clothing related goods for the purpose of Approval Rating, as it results in a diverse economy. Clothing Stalls will stock the following items:
- Clothes
- Cloaks
- Leather
- Linen
- Yarn
- Shoes
Creating Linen at the Weaver’s Workshop will result in clothing stall owners selling that item, alongside Yarn, which is also produced at a Wavers Workshop. Tanneries can also supply Leather to Market Stalls, which is typically needed to make Shoes. More good available on the markets typically means better approval rating for your citizens who can access those stalls and goods.
This concludes everything you need to know about getting clothes in Manor Lords. Good luck with the prosperity of your settlement and upgrading your way to level 3 Burgage Plots.
