How to find Thick Hide¶
Thick Hide can be obtained by skinning animals that are Level 40+ and as such, can be found in the higher level areas. These monsters will allow you to skin Thick Hide from these enemies provided your Skinning skill is in the 85-100 range. The following monsters have Thick Hide:
- Timber Wolf
- Damned Hound
- Mountain Lion
- Primal Lion
- Bobcat
- Lynx
- Alligator
- Strange Alligator
- Boar
- Strange Boar
- Grizzly Bear
- Black Bear
- Elk Bull
- Elk Cow
- Strange Elk
- Bison
- Strange Bison
You can find these animals in the following areas:
- Reekwater
- Ebonscale Reach
- Weaver’s Fen
- Restless Shore
- Great Cleave
- Edengrove
- Mourning Dale
- Shattered Mountain
Best place to gather¶
Due to Thick Hide being common from most animals at Level 42+, simply wandering many of these areas are lucrative sources. Ebonscale Reach tends to have less animals than the other high level areas, so be sure to avoid that but areas such as Restless Shore has an abundance of animals. Edengrove is the prime target however, it has the highest density of Level 42+ animals in the game.
