Versus Rock-type Pokemon¶
It’s a Rock-type gym! Bring the good types listed above ( double damage ) and avoid the bad ones ( half damage ) if possible. This gym features a rock climbing wall, which is pretty cool. You can either start climbing using the front rocks or the ones on the right side of the cliff.
It’s recommended you take the side rocks if you want to avoid the first trainer. Head on up. If you’re taking on the first trainer; here’s their information below.
Gym Member Battle: Rising Star Didier¶
There are two possible paths to take next. Take the left one as the other’s a dead end. Follow the path along; past the ramp leading back down to the next set of rocks. You can climb up them and take on the Hiker there if you want.
Gym Member Battle: Hiker Craig¶
Pokémon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Roggenrola | 24 | Rock |
Climb back down the rocks and continue left. If you stay against the wall you can avoid the next battle, but feel free to walk in front of the next trainer if you wish to take them on.
Gym Member Battle: Rising Star Manon¶
Head up the next few rock faces until you reach the Hiker. You can try walking by him without him seeing if you want, otherwise; take him head on!
Gym Member Battle: Hiker Bernard¶
Once he’s defeated, head up the final rock face and you’ll reach the Gym Leader, Grant! Make sure to heal up and prepare beforehand if you need to, then speak with him to begin the duel!
Gym Leader Battle! Leader Grant¶
Against Amaura, Grass-types should be avoided as Amaura is part Ice. Fighting and Steel-type moves do quadruple damage and will likely one-shot the fossil Pokemon. Next up is Tyrunt; this dino isn’t too tough if you field a Pokemon it’s weak to (hint: check our listing just above).
After defeating Grant, you’ll receive the Cliff Badge . This means that any Pokemon up to Level 40 that you received in a trade will obey. Awesome! You can also use Strength now. Double awesome! You also receive TM39 - Rock Tomb .
Now; take the stairs behind Grant down to the rock face. Head down it and then slide down both ramps to the bottom. Head on out! Heal up and let’s head to Route 10 ! It’s the north-west exit out of town.
