The Cure¶
“After Marwen’s possession by Saruman, Lithariel needs your help to find the elixir and heal her mother.”
Head over to the northern part of Fort Morn, where you can find this mission start just west of the Forge Tower. Talion will interrupt Lithariel, who is arguing with her soldiers, who-aside from being some of the tiniest guys you’ll ever see-wisely think assaulting Fort Morn is doomed to failure. Talion, being the good guy he is, will offer to take care of the Uruks, something the Wraith, as usual, thinks is fools. Real pragmatic ghost, that one.
When the talking is over you’ll see that you’re tasked with clearing three search areas without raising the alarm, with the bonus objective of Stealth Branding 5 Uruks. Stealth Branding Uruks will make all the sneaky stuff that much easier, so you might as well start out by branding any Uruks on the bridge, then an Archer on a watch tower west of the southern end of the bridge. The first target area is in a clearing just south of the bridge, where the obvious move is to use the Detonate Ability on the campfire, which will eliminate most of the Uruks. Clearing the Archers around the clearing first might be a good idea, too. Doing this should be more than enough to complete the bonus objective.
The next target area is to the south, in a caged-off area crowded with Caragor cages. As you might remember if you completed the Dagger Mission “The Scourging of the Shadow” , this is where some Torchbearers lurked, and like then, we can snipe our targets from afar without much trouble. You can also free a Caragor to shake things up… but the Caragor is also an objective. So… free the Caragor, let it free the Uruk, then kill the Caragor.
Next head west to find the third target area. Again, staying on high ground and Branding nearby Uruks will serve you well, here. There are explosive barrels in the area, but your stationary foes won’t get near enough to them to be of much use, but if you’re willing to get on the ground and lure them close… well, it’s one way to go about things. This group of targets includes a Berserker Captain named “Luga the Kin-Slayer”, an Uruk with no Weaknesses, but also no immunities, so he shouldn’t be too hard to kill conventionally. Just make sure his underlings don’t run off and sound an Alarm while you fight him. Despite the detailed explanation, simply dropping down, shooting the lesser Uruks to death, and killling Luga in melee works fine.
Once done, Lithariel will arrive and confirm that they obtained the medicine they were after. Why would Uruks be holding some magic medicine? Who knows. They also found some intel on Uruk operations in a fishing village to the north-Nurnen Peninsula. The Wraith warns you not to attach yourself to the cause of these Tribesmen too much, it’s not our fight, and they’re not our people, after all. Also, we’re kind of dead, and should be focusing on revenge. It’s good advice, but when has that ever mattered?
