One of the longest chapters in Tchia is Chapter IV, where you will be collecting several offerings in order to gain an audience with Meavora. This takes you to the game’s second major island and through two villages. During this chapter, you gain several new gameplay mechanics and learn about two very different villages. The guide below goes over how to get all of the offerings in Tchia, including the optional ones, and complete Chapter IV.
How to Complete The Coutume in Tchia¶
Once you leave Madra Nöj the map will open up, and you will make your way to the second major island in the game, Ija Nöj. At this point in the game, you can choose to explore or go forward with the story of the game. You should note that there are some major features that unlock in this chapter, like the ability to increase your soul meter. Once you decide to continue with the story though, you will need to head to one of two villages on Ija Nöj, Weliwele, or Hunahmi.
In addition to this, there is also a list of extra offerings to gather. This doesn’t have any impact on the game but gives you a nicer start to exploring the open world. Each village noted above has its own small quest line that you must complete in order to get Meavora’s Coutume.
Completing the Weliwele Quest Line¶
Weliwele is the village that is furthest away, and its quest line contains two musical numbers. When you arrive here, you will be greeted by a woman holding a shotgun named Gaby. She will instruct you to bring her a Red Crab if you want to talk further and provide you with its locations. You will want to hop back into your boat and sail down the coast to a swampy area called Kwéö. Both village quests will take you here. Head to the center of the swamp. You should find a Red Crab nearby or along the way.
In addition, try to grab some white clay from the large clay pile before heading back to speak with Gaby. Once you return, a short sequence will play with some quick time events. All you need to do is follow the directions and help Louise to make dinner for everyone. A musical number will play after this, and you will learn that Louise can get you a dead chicken.
Once this is done, you will need to find Louise. She is across the river from Weliwele at a house that later becomes a Photo Kit location. You can find it here on our map. You will perform another musical number with Louise before returning to Weliwele to get your dead chicken. Here Louise will also give you the camera, all you need to do is snap a picture of her, and it’s yours for the taking. While you’re in the Chicken pen, make sure to use soul jump to get an egg for the extra commissions. Next, you will be heading to Hunahmi.
Completing the Hunahmi Quest Line¶
Next, sail down the coast past Kwéö to reach Hunahmi. It’s here that you will learn that you need a Coutume for the Chief. This time you will be gathering five Clam Pearls, and you will need to locate them all on your own. Luckily, there are several close by. If you need all five, then you can sail farther down the coast of Ija Nöj to Lek, an area on the right end of the island, right past the Dopwa dock. Here, you will see several rocks sticking out of the water and find a reef with five Clam Pearls. If you already have some, there is a closer patch of three in the ocean right below Weliwele.
Once you have your Clam Pearls, head back to see the Chief. He will now request that you go to Kwéö to get the white clay. This is located in the center of the swampy area, the same as where you find Red Crabs. Once you place some in your backpack, talk to the Chief again to unlock the ability for Tchia to wear face paint, you have to pick a style and then verify it to proceed with the story. After this, you will play through a musical number and then be moved along to a new type of mini-game where you carve totems.
For this game, you simply need to tap the areas with wood to make them match the picture. Once this is done, the Chief will take you to a Totem Shrine Door and teach you how to open them. Inside you will find a Soul Fruit. For each one you consume, you will gain an extra bar on your soul meter. With this, the Hunahmi quest line will conclude. You can either choose to return to Meavora or get the extra offerings.
Where to Get The Extra Offerings For Meavora in Tchia¶
The extra offerings are easy to find. You simply need an egg, which can be obtained from the Chicken pen in Weliwele. Just soul jump into a chicken, lay the egg, and then pick it up as Tchia. The ancient tooth is at the center of Hnora and glows like a collectible making it easy to find. Hnora is at the northwest end of Ija Nöj and can be easily spotted from the sky as it’s in the shape of a heart.
The final offerings are a trophy from a challenge, which can be obtained from the Shooting Range outside of Weliwele found here. Finally, you will also need to get five Braided Trinkets. Luckily, there are exactly five around Weliwele, and you can use our interactive map to find them quickly.
Meeting Meavora in Tchia¶
Once this is done, use a nearby dock to transport yourself back to Aëmoon on Madra Nöj. You will once again be returning to Ga Ngazo and speaking with the Secretary, only this time, you will finally be sent up to see Meavora. Things don’t quite go the way Tchia hopes, though, and she ends up being saved by a Masked Knight, prompting the start of Chapter V.
