Tower of Fantasy Ruin E-01:Walkthrough & Chest locations

By
Craig Robinson

Welcome to the first Ruin you enter in the Warren Snowfield. Like other Ruins, your tasks are to loot chests for goodies, fight some baddies, solve a few puzzles and beat a boss. Tower of Fantasy’s Ruin E-01 is no different. Here is a walkthrough to do all that, along with a chest location guide for E-01.
You can locate this ruin on our interactive map here.

Tower of Fantasy Ruin E-01 Walkthrough

You need to turn down the broken-looking mine cart rack when you load in. Two Aida enemies are waiting for a fight. They are only Zealot enemies that you have thought of in other missions and in the open world. Avoid getting hit, and you’re fine. If you want to speed things up, your weapons with knockback effects can knock them off the bridge and kill them; speed runners rejoice! After those two are dead, move along the wooden bridge into the stone cavern ahead.

Throwing the balls into the stone tiles with red circles is the consistent puzzle in this Ruin E-01

You’ll now enter a new room with a puzzle mechanic. Firstly, you need to walk over to the pipe protruding from the wall to the left of the entrance. Turn the valve, similar to what you did on D-02, and it stops the water from flowing in. Now you want to go to the opposite side of the pool and pick up a sphere from the floor tile with a red circle in it. You can then throw the stone ball into the pool and try and land it on the other stone tile with the red circle in the pool. This then triggers the mechanism to open the next door.

Now head through the door, and you’ll come across an outdoor area. Cross the rickety bridge to the connector in the middle, and take care of more Aidan Zealots on the stone platform. Now they are defeated, there are a few pathways you can take. The right pathway takes you to a chest, so go and get that and come back. You now want to take the left bridge from the middle platform. Take care of the Zealot Elites and the Sniper, and you’ll find another one of those spheres they were guarding. Take that to the middle bridge, and then direct it to the forward side of the bridge.

At the top platform, there are even more baddy Zealots and Snipers. Once again, deal with them, and you’re good. You can then take the ball to another one of those stone tiles with the red circle in it. It then opens the door for you to go through.

Use the Strange Cube to knock the sphere from the statue’s hands.

The new room has a pack of enemies ahead. Two are Zealot Elites, while another is a Biostalker, a meaner zealot character. Deal with them, then move down the corridor to the giant statue. You now need to equip your Stange Cube Relic. Double jump towards the statue’s hands, and then activate your Strange Cube to launch the sphere from its hands. This then opens a wall behind containing the second chest location on easy. You now need to take the sphere to the stone tile at the end of the corridor, facing a larger room in the distance. Throw it on the tile, and you’ll build the bridge to the boss room.

Chiron the Centaur Boss Guide

The areas circled in blue are the areas we recommend playing around.

This boss genuinely took ages, especially if you have a lower gearscore than recommended. The reason why is simply down the boss doing lots of damage, which players closer to the recommended gear score can take on more. We recommend decent health regenerating food in case you take too many hits.

Moreso, ranged characters will have an easier time with this fight, especially regarding the cheese tactic we recommended. There are two different cheese tactics you can employ. The first strategy requires you to kite the boss around the stone structures to the left and the right. Feel free to use the edge on the ground and then stand on top of it and drop down when needed. Also, the second strategy you can use the end of the ruin’s pyramid at the back of the boss room. This helps players use its jagged edges to kite, which is very handy when the Centaur does its charge ability.

Also, one of the boss’ skills makes it jump to your location. You will need to use two dodges to avoid the damage range on this before it lands. Otherwise, you will take lots of damage. Also, one of the boss’s moves is a rolling thunder skill, w which drops damage zones around you after a second or two. It will likely force you from your cheese spot anyway.

Lastly, it is worth mentioning range weapon users, such as Icewind Arrow, Dual EM Stars, and other weapons with free aim, have a better time. However, other weapons work, too. You just need to stand at the edge of the platforms when the boss is up against them to deal damage. The strategy works for melee players too; it’s just that ranged players have a better time to kill. Alternatively, play the corners more and then attack while the boss runs into a wall.

With the caveats aside, let us look at the boss’s moves.

Chiron the Centaur Skills

Long Jump: The boss jumps to the player’s position. As soon as you see the boss enter the air, you need to dash twice to avoid the range of the damage of its landing. For lower gear score players, this will kill you.

Spear Thrust - The boss thrusts and slashes its spears twice, sending out energy to make it a ranged attack. Avoid the green beams that comes from it to avoid taking extra damage
180-degree swipe - The bose swipes with its spear in an arc. This has a surprising range, so make sure you are behind the boss or very far away, as this can surprisingly kill you at lower HP.

Charge! - The boss picks up speed and charges at the player’s direction. Getting hit will trample for every leg that hits you. Make the Centaur turn one direction and dash the other way to ensure it rides past you. Ranged players can free aim attack it, while melee players can follow it to then do damage.

Call of Lightning - The boss channels volt energy and calls thunderstrikes around your position. This happens several times, so make sure to avoid the boss’s strikes. It is possible to melee attack the boss between blasts coming down, but the safest bet is to keep running with your camera facing the direction you are running.

Red Circles - The boss charges an AOE around its body, releasing green volt damage. Avoid the red circle around its body to prevent getting hit.

Remember to dodge any melee-based moves as they go off, as that will pop the slowing barrier. This works incredibly well for discharged skills or abilities like the Chakrams to do some insane damage while it is slowed temporarily. Also, take the opportunity to eat throughout the fight, especially on lower HP, to ensure you can make it to the end.

Once the boss is dead, you have then completed Tower of Fantasy’s Ruin E-01. Congratulations. We will try to update the page when we unlock the higher level difficulties, adding in more chest locations and only other tips for any secret hard more strategies as we have seen before.
