Scene 01 in Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong will introduce you to the main characters, Emem, Leysha, and Galeb, while introducing the core mechanics of the game. This all takes place in the Prince’s Quarter, and you’ll have some important choices to make.
I Told her to Leave or Pretend you never found her¶
This choice is the most difficult one to encounter in Scene 01, as it requires you to make other choices to reach it. Based on your choices, there’s a Trait to earn here for Emem although it means sacrificing two other Traits, an immediate one for Leysha and one for Emem in Scene 05.
To begin with, when you access Jara Drory’s room at the end of Emem’s segment, you’ll get your first choice of the scene when you finally locate Journey Atkins. You’ll need to choose to Tell Her to Run!, and win the confrontation that follows. Next, when you gain control of Leysha, you will get a timed choice when witnessing the previous conversation. Choose to Stay Focused and when you finish your tasks as Leysha, you’ll be able to inform the Prince on what you saw. This will then bring you to Emem’s meeting with the Prince where she asks her to explain herself.
I Told her to leave¶
Being honest with Prince is the only outcome you should consider here, especially as you, the player, already know that the Prince is aware of Emem’s actions. For choosing this choice, you’ll obtain the A Sin Confessed Trait for Emem, this will grant Emem a +10% success rate in all Rhetoric ties. Beyond this, your choice to be honest with the Prince has no further changes on the story as your relationship with her continues as normal.
Pretend you never found her¶
As mentioned above, this choice is a fruitless one as the Prince is already well aware of Emem’s actions in her encounter with Journey thanks to the information provided by Leysha only moments ago. As soon as Emem tells the lie, the Prince comes down hard on her, rebuking her for betraying her not only once, but twice. As a result, there’s no Trait to be gained here and the Prince will send you away until she’s ready to give Emem her next task.
Scene 01 has more than just this choice for you to contend with, and you can find out more information on those by visiting those pages:
