Information on how to unlock the Introspective Trait when playing as Leysha in the Prince’s Quarter (Scene 01) in Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong. This is a Trait that can be easily earned as soon as you gain control of Leysha for the first time.
The Introspective Trait is a simple enough Trait to earn when playing as Leysha in Scene 01 in Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong, although you’ll have to make a choice between earning this Trait for Leysha or the A Sin Confessed Trait for Emem, as you’ll have to take different choices here.
Stay Focused or Give in to a Premonition¶
This choice is the one that will determine whether you unlock the Introspective Trait for Leysha or not. Once you’ve finished the segment with Emem and had your conversation with Journey, hopefully you’ve chosen to Take Her to the Prince, since the alternative is putting you on the path for the A Sin Confessed Trait at the expense of Introspective.
Once play switches over to Leysha for the first time, you’ll have a short conversation with the Prince and then find yourself in the same room as Emem and Journey were just in. Almost immediately, you’ll get a timed choice here, “Stay Focused or Give in to a Premonition, and you’ll need to select to Give in to a Premonition. Leysha will appear to glimpse an event that has yet to happen, where she is alone in an unknown area and when she awakes from it, you’ll earn the Introspective Trait.
At the same time, you’ll miss out on your chance to listen in on Emem and Journey’s conversation, but since you’ve already decided to take Journey to the Prince as Emem, there’s not really anything to inform the Prince of. The only time you should be choosing the “Stay Focused” choice is if you want Leysha to witness Emem convincing Journey to run, and thus, eventually unlocking the A Sin Confessed Trait.
What does the Introspective Trait do?¶
Now that you have this Trait, you may wonder what this actually does for Leysha. With this Trait, Leysha will have -20 to the next experience cost for the Auspex Discipline, this means that it will be much easier to gain a level in Auspex at the start of the next scene, something you should usually take up when you earn a Trait.
The Auspex Discipline is one of the more useful ones for Leysha’s Scenes throughout the game, as it’ll allow you to track scents, view past events or even reveal items or passages that have otherwise been hidden from human eyes, opening up a world of possibilities.
