Information about how to win the confrontation with Journey Atkins when playing as Emem in the Prince’s Quarter (Scene 01) in Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong. How to convince Journey that she should flee the Camarilla.
Tell Journey She Should Flee¶
This Confrontation is an easy one to miss, as you’ll need to choose a specific choice near the end of your gameplay segment as Emem in the Prince’s Quarter in Scene 01. Prince Iversen will task you with tracking down Journey Atkins and once you do so, in Jara Drory’s apartment, you’ll be given a choice to make. If you choose to take her to the Prince, you’ll miss out on this Confrontation however should you try to convince her she should leave, this Confrontation will begin which serves as a tutorial for them in Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong.
Confrontation with Journey¶
The first piece of information to learn is that not every choice that requires a Skill or Discipline will lead to a Stage Win, although often they will at the expense of precious Willpower or Hunger. What is true, however, is that for most Confrontations in the game, there is usually a choice you can select for a Stage Win outside of exceptional circumstances.
As this is the first Scene in the game, you may find that many of your Skills are too low (or not levelled at all) to make use of some of the choices here. Fret not, as there is a choice at every phase that you can select that requires no Skills or Disciplines. To win at a Confrontation, you must not fail more than the misses allowed (3 in the case of this Confrontation) and must get the final phase correct. In the event of a wrong answer in the final phase, you will repeat the choice provided you have misses still available to you.
Once the Confrontation begins, select the following choices to win the argument and convince Journey Atkins to flee:
- “Make her think I have evidence against her” (Requires Persuasion 2)
- “April”
- The Anarchs will help you
Answering the questions in this order will successfully clear the Confrontation, convincing Journey that she should flee the Camarilla and head for the Anarchs.
There is plenty more to see and do in Scene 01, and you can access more details about in the following pages:
