Helldivers 2

Bile Spewer Locations - Helldivers 2

By
Scott Peers

The daily missions in Helldivers 2 will sometimes require you to find and kill a specific number of Bile Spewers. These are a form of Terminid bug that glow with a luminous green underbelly, so you can easily identify them during missions. With that said, not all Bile Spewers will count toward the objective, so you need to make sure that you’re killing the correct variant for it to register with the mission count. On this page, we’ll tell you everything you need to know about how to find Bile Spewers in Helldivers 2, including how to increase your chances of encountering them by playing on higher difficulties.

Bile Spewers in Helldivers 2 are defined by their luminous green underbellies.

Location of Bile Spewers in Helldivers 2

The first thing you need to know about the Bile Spewers location is that you can only find them on planets that are infested with Terminid bugs, not those with Automatons present. You can easily see which planets have Terminids or Automatons present from the Galactic War map on your starship, shown in the screenshot below with Automaton planets on the left and Terminid planets on the right.

Bile Spewers and Challenging Difficulty

The other thing you need to keep in mind that is that you’ll encounter more Bile Spewers on the higher difficulties in Helldivers 2, especially from Challenging and above. We experimented with different difficulty levels to see how many Bile Spewers would spawn, and we found far more on Hard difficulty compared with Challenging. That said, there were some present on Challenging, so you don’t necessarily need to go higher.

How to Identify Bile Spewers

As mentioned above, Bile Spewers are defined by their luminous green underbellies, and you’ll soon know that you’ve encountered one when they start spitting their toxic bile at you. The bile can be highly damaging, so the best way to avoid it is by creating some distance between yourself and the Bile Spewer by running away, or wait for the projectile to launch before quickly diving in one direction. In either case, you should aim for the parts of the bug that are glowing in the characteristic luminous green, as these represent its weakest point and they’re particularly vulnerable to explosive damage (such as grenades!).

If you want to be sure that you’ve found the correct type of Bile Spewer, see the screenshots below for some examples. They’re generally much larger than their weaker counterparts, and the small spewers won’t count toward the objective. The larger Bile Spewers can sometimes be slightly difficult to spot head-on since they have a protective armor on the top of their bodies, but the green underbelly can be seen as you move around them.

That covers all you need to know about the Bile Spewers location in Helldivers 2! The most important thing to remember is that you’ll find more of these on the higher difficulties, so if you want to complete the objective within one game, they’re worth trying. If you need help with other bug types, see our guides on Chargers and Scout Striders.
