Damping is a tech talent available to Engineers, Infiltrators, the Turian Agent and the Quarian Machinist. It shuts down enemy tech and biotic abilities making it a useful skill when facing large groups of powerful enemies with biotics. Damping also increases the radius on proximity mines. There are three power levels: Damping, Advanced Damping and Master Damping.
Damping Power Levels¶
Damping¶
Does 50 damage in a 6m radius.
Enemies cannot use biotic/tech abilities for a short period (adds 30% cooldown time)
Stuns basic enemies for 3 sec.
Recharge Time: 60 sec.
Accuracy Cost: 60%
Advanced Damping¶
Does 100 damage in a 8m radius.
Enemies cannot use biotic/tech abilities for a short period (adds 45% cooldown time)
Stuns most enemies for 3 sec.
Recharge Time: 50 sec.
Accuracy Cost: 60%
Master Damping¶
Does 100 damage in a 10m radius.
Enemies cannot use biotic/tech abilities for a short period (adds 60% cooldown time)
Stuns all but the toughest enemies for 3 sec.
Recharge Time: 40 sec.
Accuracy Cost: 60%

You’ll obtain the Damping Specialist achievement for using this ability 25 times.
