Mass Effect: Andromeda

Ryder Family Secrets - Eos

By
Nathan Garvin

Ryder Reunion

Head on over to the Cryo Bay on the Nexus (well… technically the Hyperion, but same thing now, right?) and, while you’re here, pay your sibling a visit. Turns out that via the magic of invasive implants and illegal AI, you’re able to sneak in a conversation to your sibling without having to shake them out of that coma business. You’ve basically got two choices here, since your sibling asks you the two worst possible questions (about dad and about those wonderful golden worlds you came here for) - play it straight and freak them out, or tell them sweet little lies until your connection is severed. This advances - however trivially - the quest “Ryder Family Secrets”, and speaking of which, you passed by some memory triggers on Eos, which you may as well go and collect, for the sake of completionism.

Chat with your sibling on the Hyperion and answer some hard questions (left), then scour Eos for various Memory Triggers (right).

Memory Triggers on Eos

  • Return to Eos and you’ll find that the first of the two Memory Triggers you can find in Eos is right in Prodromos! Walk along the eastern shore of the lake around which Prodromos is built to find the Memory Trigger, near where August Bradley stands.
  • Fast travel back to Site 1 - everybody’s favorite failed settlement! - and exit by driving the Nomad west, then south. Follow the trail uphill to the northwest and when you crest the hill, exit the Nomad and make your way south along the cliffs to find a second Memory Trigger.
  • The first two Memory Triggers can both be obtained relatively early on, but the next one requires you to travel into previously heavily-irradiated areas. From the Forward Station just northeast of Prodromos head north through a cave, which was previously occupied by Kett forces. On the northern end of this tunnel you’ll be greeted with a fork. Drive downhill and follow the tracks to another fork a short distance off, at which point turn southwest and continue downhill.
  • Eventually you’ll find a cave, and while there’s a Forward Station shortly beyond this cave, the clearest path to the Memory Trigger lies south of the cave entrance. Drive south from the cave and turn uphill to the southwest with you spot a path between some rocks. Continue southwest, then northwest until you reach some short cliffs. To the north you’ll find a ramp you can drive up after which turn northwest, then cross a natural stone bridge to the north. The Memory Trigger is to the west, at the edge of a cliff overlooking the Forward Station.

Interact with the Memory Triggers on Eos to unlock a memory, which you can view by visiting the SAM Node on the Hyperion (left). Afterwards, SAM will encourage you to continue the quest by finding more Memory Triggers on other planets (right).

After scoring the memory triggers on Eos, you should have enough data to play a new memory. Just return to the Nexus and visit the Habitation deck of the Hyperion and visit SAM Node to play it
