During the quest “A Dying Planet” you’ll have to ascend a Remnant structure, Mithrava, atop which you’ll meet with First Sage Esmus. After you’re done talking to him make your way north of the Gravity Well to find Sage Fleera, who will complain about you interrupting her boring lessons before babbling on about Remnant technology and its role in Angaran history. Naturally this prompts another collectathon quest to begin, as any Remnant artifacts unearthed by Havarl’s instability might as well be yours, right?
Right. Unfortunately none of these locations are marked on your map. On the plus side you’ll get a pittance of Research Data for every one you collect. Also, there are more than eight of them, so while you need to keep an eye out (especially since the signature radiance they give off is easy to miss given how… visually busy Havarl is) you don’t need to be perfect. Here are their locations:
- Venture east from the Tempest to find a Unearthed Remnant Device near some rocks and a vine-covered tree.
- Search the eastern edge of the foundation the Pelaav Research Station rests upon to find two large pipes. Follow them off the edge to the east to find an Unearthed Remnant Device .
- Due north of the Pelaav Research Station you’ll find the Ruins of Raashel’s Home, to which you’ll be directed during the quest “Forgotten Stars”. Just south of this structure, near some rocks, you’ll find another Unearthed Remnant Device .
- Northeast of the Pelaav Research Station, south of the Remnant arch that leads to Thaldyr’s Home (part of the quest “Jaal Ama Darav: Friend or Foe?” you’ll find a rock formation. Search these rocks to find an Unearthed Remnant Device .
- Make your way east, southeast from the Pelaav Research Station to find some burning wreckage. From here veer southeast and search behind some rocks south of a collapsed section of highway to find yet another Unearthed Remnant Device . This is just south of where you’ll find the Computer during the quest “Forgotten Stars”.
- East of the Pelaav Research Station you’ll find a Forward Station, north of which are some Remnant structures (marked on your map as “To the Remnant Abyss”). Explore northeast of some ramps and search atop some rocks next to a Remnant wall to find this Unearthed Remnant Device .
- North of the Forward Station east of the Pelaav Research Station you’ll find some Remnant ruins (marked on your maps as “To the Remnant Abyss”). From the entrance to a Remnant bunker found atop numerous ramps turn southwest to find a cave, near which you’ll find this Unearthed Remnant Device .
- Search the western side of the large trench that splits the level (not in the trench - the high ground near the trench) to find this Unearthed Remnant Device . Some rocks obscure its view from the trench itself, but it’s just north of a large tree, south of the bridge that spans (or will span, depending on your quest progress) the trench.
- North of the bridge that spans (or will span, depending on your quest progress) the large trench the divides the operational zone of Havarl you’ll find some ledges. Descend them until you find this Unearthed Remnant Device .
- In the trench that divides the operational area on Havarl, south of the Forward Station at the northern end of the trench, north of the ancient Angaran wreckage (part of the quest “Recovering the Past”).
- Also in the trench that divides the operational level on Havarl, this one is north of the Forward Station in the trench, near the northern end of the trench. You’ll find this Unearthed Remnant Device behind (on the northern side) of a rock.
- One **** Unearthed Remnant Device can be found in the ground floor of the Remnant structure leading up to Mithrava. From the door head south until the Remnant walkway ends, then turn west and head into the Havarl overgrowth to find an Unearthed Remnant Device near rocks surrounded by water.
- Advance the quest “A Dying Planet” and recover Zorai’s Heirloom, after which you’ll find a bridge spanning the large trench that divides Havarl’s operational zone. Cross the bridge to reach some stairs, at which turn north and walk along the edge of the trench until you find an alcove to the east. You’ll find an Unearthed Remnant Device inside.
- Advance the quest “A Dying Planet” and recover Zorai’s Heirloom, after which you’ll find a bridge spanning the large trench that divides Havarl’s operational zone. Cross the bridge to reach some stairs, at which turn south to find an Unearthed Remnant Device behind a tree.
- Northeast of the Forward Station past (east of) the trench. You’ll need to advance the quest “A Dying Planet” to reach this Unearthed Remnant Device .
- South, southwest of the Forward Station past (east of) the trench. You’ll need to advance the quest “A Dying Planet” to reach this Unearthed Remnant Device . This device near a tree, up a slope on an elevated Remnant platform, quite close to a (possibly abandoned) Roekaar camp (not the large camp at the eastern end of the area, obviously).
- East and slightly south of the Forward Station past (east of) the trench. You’ll need to advance the quest “A Dying Planet” to reach this Unearthed Remnant Device . This device is near some rocks at the foot of a large tree, just southwest of the stairs leading to a Roekaar camp on the eastern end of the area. If you head southwest from the watch tower near the stairs you should find this.
- Southeast of the Forward Station past (east of) the trench. You’ll need to advance the quest “A Dying Planet” to reach this Unearthed Remnant Device . You’ll find this device among some rocks, near the sheer Remnant walls which form the boundary of Havarl’s operational area, south, southwest of the stairs that lead to a Roekaar camp on the eastern end of the area. More specifically, this device is just south of the previous one.
- At the southeastern most end of the operational zone on Havarl, past the trench. This Unearthed Remnant Device is even further south of the previous one, among some rocks near a Remnant bunker.
For finding any eight of these devices you’ll earn yourself 29 AVP, +2% Havarl viability and 270 XP.
