Background¶
This place hardly needs an introduction; the grand arena that is the Pokémon League stands before you. Best get ready…
Guide¶
To the west is a Pokémon Center; heal here and purchase any items from the store. The League is tough, requiring you to push through four fights with no respite, so stock up on consumable items before heading in. That’s lots of Potions, Revives, and Full Restores. When ready, head into the arena.
The Elite Four¶
Unlike prior games you’re free to tackle the Elite Four in any order you so wish. Below we’ve listed the four masters, as well as tips for each of them.
If you don’t think your Pokemon are up to the task, you can return to Victory Road and train on the wild Pokemon there. For additional trainer battles, Fly back to Nimbasa City and storm the two sports stadiums or Opelucid’s Battle House.
South-East: Marshal the Fighting-type Expert¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Throh | 48 | Fighting |
Sawk | 48 | Fighting |
Conkeldurr | 48 | Fighting |
Mienshao | 50 | Fighting |
Marshal’s key weaknesses are Flying and Psychic based attacks, and either will make absolute mincemeat of this party. That said, Mienshao’s Rock Slide can seriously hurt any birds you may try and use which means the Psychic type gets the stronger nod.
North-East: Caitlin the Psychic-type Expert¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Reuniclus | 48 | Psychic |
Sigilyph | 48 | Psychic/Flying |
Musharna | 48 | Psychic |
Gothitelle | 50 | Psychic |
Psychic Pokémon are always absolute power houses, making a scrap with a Psychic user all the more intimidating. A Bug or Dark type will ensure calls of super effective occur often, while Sigilyph is best dispatched with a strong charge of Electricity.
North-West: Grimsley the Dark-type Expert¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Scrafty | 48 | Dark/Fighting |
Krookodile | 48 | Ground/Dark |
Liepard | 48 | Dark |
Bisharp | 50 | Dark/Steel |
Grimsley is packing one pure Dark type and three hybrids, Fighting, Ground, and Steel ones to be exact. Scrafty always leads the fight, a curious Dark/Fighting hybrid, so enter with either a Flying or Fighting type (yes, it’s still Super Effective) and then react appropriately. Fighting is the best type to use across all opponents.
South-West: Shauntal the Ghost-type Expert¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Cofagrigus | 48 | Ghost |
Jellicent | 48 | Water/Ghost |
Golurk | 48 | Ground/Ghost |
Chandelure | 50 | Ghost/Fire |
While a Dark type is a cure all against Ghosts, Shauntal’s lineup is quite diverse with Water, Fire, and Ground hybrids. Try to ensure you won’t be countered yourself, as these Pokémon pack a punch. If you haven’t got a good Ghost killer, use other counters such as Water against Chandelure, or Electric against Jellicent.
The Elite Four Bested¶
With the Elite Four dispensed with it’s time to fight the Champion. Or is it? Click on the Statue to proceed and then run as far north as you can. You’ll soon come across N and the champion fresh from the fight…
