*** indicates Alolan form.**

Just a bit more and you’ll reach the site of your next grand trial. From the Memorial Hill entrance, go east past the lamppost. Around here is a bunch of tall grass; wade your way east through it. On the other side is a fisherman engrossed in his sport.

Fisherman Vernon

Pokemon Level Type
"Staryu" IconStaryu 23 Water
"Gyarados" IconGyarados 23 Water/Flying

"Staryu" IconStaryu is a Water-type pretending to be a Psychic-type, although unlike "Psyduck" IconPsyduck it actually evolves into a Psychic-type. Anyway, Grass and Electric moves are best.

"Gyarados" IconGyarados is a frightful creature, the evolved form of the pathetic "Magikarp" IconMagikarp. If approached lightly, it can spell your demise. Electric moves are ideal since they do 4x damage. Otherwise you don’t have many other options and Gyarados is pretty dang bulky.

North from here is TM28 Leech Life . We should mention that this used to be an absolutely terrible move in previous games, relegated to earlygame "Zubat" IconZubats, "Paras" IconParas and the like. Now it’s suddenly a frightful 80 power attack. Hmm, you should see if any Pokemon can learn it.

Once you’re all done here, proceed north, west from your pal, Vernon the fisherman. Up here, there’s a Black Belt honing his arts. Go up to him and show off yours–the art of beating down Pokemon trainers.

Black Belt Kenji

Pokemon Level Type
"Hariyama" IconHariyama 24 Fighting

If you mopped up "Diglett" IconDiglett’s Tunnel, you’ll have faced this Pokemon before, except this time it has no Z-Crystal. As before, Flying and Fairy Pokemon have the easiest time, since Psychic and Ghosts won’t like being hit with Knock Off.

After that excellent display, head south-west from Kenji, between the tall grass. Just before the ledge, pick up the "Zygarde" IconZygarde Cell (30) . Next, go east into the tall grass. Search along the west side of the grass to find an obscured Tiny Mushroom .

From there, head north into the other patch of tall grass. Although there’s an empty patch to the west, the hidden item isn’t found there. Instead, search just north-east of the empty patch, towards the north side. You should find a Big Mushroom .

Lastly, run east towards the final patch of grass. At the very center, search around and you can find a hidden Tiny Mushroom . You’re pretty much done here. Check your Pokemon are fighting fit, then proceed north towards the entrance to the Ruins of Life.

Just before you exit, you’ll be met by somebody none too pleased about the Team Skull Grunts you’ve been spanking.

Team Skull Admin Plumeria

Pokemon Level Type
"Golbat" IconGolbat 25 Poison/Flying
"Salandit" IconSalandit 26 Fire/Poison

The big sister of Team Skull opens with the evolved form of Zubat. While fairly intimidating, it’s easily countered with strong Psychic, Rock or Electric-types.

"Salandit" IconSalandit is nothing you haven’t seen. As before, Ground-types will nail it fast, while Water, Rock and Psychic moves work well too.

Drive off Plumeria and you’re free to head to your grand trial at last. Sheesh, these Team Skull folk sure are persistent!
