How to Rent a Server - Conan Exiles

By
Jessica Dillon

Renting servers for games feels like a complex process as it generally must be done through a website. Conan Exiles is no exception to this rule. If you want your own server, then you are going to need to use a site like GPORTAl. These sites will give you a server in exchange for a monthly fee, allowing you and your friends to play more freely. The guide below goes over the benefits of server rental and the process for renting your own server.

Renting a server gives you and your friends access to a private game at any time.

Benefits of Renting a Conan Exiles Server

When you set up a game to play online with your friends, the server you are using runs off of your hardware, whether it be your PC or console. Once this system is offline, the server is offline. In addition to this, servers generated from home computers and consoles usually force players to stay close to the host, creating an invisible tether that limits gameplay. By renting a server, you are eliminating both of these problems at once. The game will be hosted from a remote location, and you won’t have to deal with tether as the server will act like those you can find when going through the PVE and PVP lists.

Server Rental Cost and Process

Renting a server for Conan Exiles is a relatively simple process. You will want to go to a site like GPORTAl that has a proven track record of hosting servers without interference. Once there, select the platform you are playing on. This is crucial as PlayStation, Xbox, and PC all have separate servers. From here, you will be shown pricing. The average cost of renting a ten-person server (This means that ten players can be online at the same time.) for thirty days is around $14 USD. You can also choose to rent for several months at once. Longer packages have better savings than just paying the month-to-month plan.

If you need a larger server, you can choose to make your own configuration. Be warned, though, that for each player slot you add, the price of renting the server will go up as it’s more load. Once you have selected your server and have finished paying for it, you can adjust it. This allows you to change the server settings like you can when making a single or co-op game from the Conan Exile menu. You can also set up your server password from here to keep stragglers out, set mods, and choose when to wipe or backup the server from the website you rented from. Once you are ready to play, you simply need to search for your server name from the Play online menu.
