This is a very painful boss to deal with especially if you’re out of Fortisols and/or Aegisols . If you have them, it’s a simple matter of attacking the guy until he’s Staggered, and then sending him into the stratosphere. Two things can make the situation hairy: the first is if he decides to guard just at the time when you’re about to Stagger him or you just Staggered him (you cannot launch him in the air during his guard stance), and the other, less annoying, situation is when he gains his winged form for the first time (he’ll dispel your buffs and remove his own debuffs, along with damaging you).
Otherwise prepare for a fun battle - the boss is susceptible to lot of debuffs which include Pain and Fog. However he can remove debuffs with Esuna (as well as the aforementioned attack in winged form). It is imperative you stick at least Slow on him to reduce the flurry of attacks coming in your direction. He hits hard and fast, and has some nasty combos available that can take well over half your HP. If that weren’t enough, he’s also capable of recovering his own HP.
Beating this boss gives you the Moogleworks Key Item which opens the ninth shop at the Save Station.
