If you wish to discover some secret Treasure Spheres then read on. After the platform comes to a stop, run up the stairs and hit the left switch. The platform will take you to a secret area with two Treasure Spheres that contain 4x Holy Water and a Phoenix Down . Ride the platform back to the previous area.

After following the path a little way, you will see two new enemies; the Flanitors. These robots are more annoying than difficult because they have the ability to heal their allies with their Rescue ability. If you should find them mixed with other enemy types, always kill them first or you will be drawn into a protracted battle.

The secret area with the two Treasure Spheres.

A Lucidon lies in wait a little further ahead. They are similar to Scalebeasts and act much the same though their attacks are somewhat stronger. The process remains the same though; push for a quick Stagger then Launch them and keep pummelling away. Repeat until dead. They do have a nasty ability in Photon Burst which can remove at least half of Hope’s HP so application of War & Peace may be necessary from time to time.

At the next oval area, you can speak to Hope for a scene explaining the fal’Cie Carbuncle’s role here but other than that, carry on to another fight with two Flanitors. Run up some more stairs to find another moving platform. Activate the left switch to be taken to another secret area with two more Treasure Spheres. This time however, you must dispatch a Lucidon and Flanitor before you can claim the treasure; kill the Flanitor first. Inside the Spheres are 2x Mobius Coils and an Aqua Ring .

The other secret platform (left) with an Aqua Ring (right) and 2x Mobius Coil.

Head back and push the right switch to get back on the normal route. Once it has stopped, ascend the stairs, dispose of the Lucidon and run to the waypoint marker for a scene. Continue into a fight with three Flanitors who you should be able to dispose of with ease and claim the Warding Talisman just beyond. A final battle with two Flanitors and another trip on a platform ends this area.

Six people, from very different backgrounds, get thrown together in a series of tumultuous events. A Pulse fal’Cie (a demi-god) has been found in the seaside town of Bodhum, a place where the fates of everyone converge and the discovery sets in motion a chain of events that will change the world forever. An innocent fireworks display in the town soon turns nasty when government soldiers storm the peaceful celebration and commit everyone to the Purge (sending individuals “contaminated” by the Pulse fal’Cie into exile). This is where your story and legend begins. Can you fight fate?
