Velma detective uses her power of intelligence and investigation to absolute wreck some enemies in Multiversus. The character can do some very interesting stuff, involving charges, blasting enemies, and the usual ground attack combos. If you’re going to master the gang’s brains, here are some useful Velma combos in Multiversus.
Velma combos in Multiversus.¶
The major thing you need to know about Velma is that she has a support, and she has a lot of interesting tools. However, Velma’s tools are not so reliable for chaining some hit stuns. However, her tools for setting up some interesting plays are there.
Basic combos¶
- Side Attack x2 > Up Attack
- Side Attack x2 > Down special - You can get slightly more damage by throwing your book rather than comboing into another light attack move.
- Side Attack x2 > Side Special > Up Attack - This combo works quite well until around the 100 HP mark, as the knockback on the charge end means they can fly higher than the lightbulb from your up attack.
- Dair > Up Attack
- Neutral > Sair - If an enemy gets hit by one of your neutral projectiles, they can be followed up with a Sair attack into a ground combo if required.
Extended Combos¶
Dair > Special Dair > Dair x 3 > Up attack > Jump into Uair - This is the major extended combo you can do if you get the right attitude and the enemy is early health percentages. If an enemy dashes, you can side attack, or if they go too high too early, you can Uair or up attack. This combo gets better the more familiar you are with the enemy’s character weight and what velocity enemies travel.
You can also perform your side attack three-piece combo followed into a Sair if their dodge is down.
In 1v1 situations, doing some extended combos with her neutral attacks is possible. You can set enemies up with a basic boxing side attack combo, then land the neutral as they are in hit stun or launched away. You can repeat the move, get an up attack and start casting the words or use her special neutral. Follow it up with more casts, and there’s potential to kill someone right there. However, if enemies dodge, they can easily avoid most of your back-to-back casts. On the other hand, If you’re in 2v2, it is better to mark your allies and heal them, and you tend to get more ranged attacks in there thanks to supporting your ally.
Other than that, there’s much else you can do with Velma. Again, she is a support, so most of her moves are fairly similar, regardless of ground or air variants. Therefore, you can do only so many limited combos without reaching for extended combos or trying to get them back into positions.
