Two Point Campus

Breaking Point

By
Paul McNally

Breaking Point is the party campus to beat all campuses. To the point where the Education Authority has stopped providing funds for it and has written it off as a bad job. So you will have no monthly income to secure your work here. The Students however have agreed to pay out of their own pockets as long as they are enjoying themselves. The higher the student happiness rating, the more cash you will get at the end of each month. Interesting tactic.

Breaking Point is another Campus where you are going to have to work for your money.

How to unlock Breaking Point in Two Point Campus

Breaking Point is unlocked by getting a One Star Rating in Pebberley Ruins and Upper Etching. Once you have it in both, you can go and play at the beach.

Breaking Point Tips

Breaking Point is another interesting campus where there is no income, similar in some ways to Upper Etching but with a slightly different mechanic to raise cash. Here you have to keep the students happy and they will give you more money each month. You have a constant update in your sidebar on how happy they are and what your expecting income at the end of the month will be, which is useful.

You will have costs probably around the $40k mark and getting them to cough up that amount in Year One is tough.

You will have to spend to accumulate here by putting on very regular events to raise happiness. The cheapest way of doing this is by showing films in your Lecture Theatres. These cost $4k a time but are just about worth it to keep your head above water.

In Year two the extra influx of students should enable you to start to make a bit more of a profit and maybe pay off the loans you will definitely have used. By Year 3 there will be a lot more students and your Bank Balance will look a lot healthier. More students mean different problems though which we will go into in a moment.

One of the criteria for the One Star Rating is to get 150 students to your Beach Event. These cost $25k a time and will get maybe 20/30 students there initially. You need to reach 150 so you can see you are going to need a few, and therefore some money that you simply do not have. Fortunately, the events also raise Student Happiness so there is a plus side in that they will raise your monthly income at the time.

Another criteria that will take a period of time to complete is Devoping 15 new romances on the site, Make sure you spend enough on Love Benches, Love Trumpets, Hugging Trees, and the like in order to foster young love. It won’t happen overnight though - which is exactly the opposite of a real university.

The hardest criteria to hit comes from having a large number of students you need to fund things and that is keeping an average grade of B+. With a large number of students, there is going to be a high proportion that fails. We used our trick from earlier of completing all the other objectives and then expelling anybody who was getting an F or a D at the time. This managed to raise our average to B but we had to get rid of a few C Students to make the grade.

Starting with a building and a beach you should have all the space you need with one extra Plot purchase.

Courses unlocked at Breaking Point

There are no new courses unlocked at Breaking Point. In fact, you are told at the beginning that because the Two Point County Education Department has washed their hands of the place you can run whatever you like. You need to choose two courses to run and your choice will be pivotal. We made a mistake initially in choosing Academic Exercise (we thought it would be nice with the beach and all, but there is nowhere you can comfortably fit a Cheeseball Field, so we restarted and went for School of Thought and Countercultural Studies because the room demands aren’t overly excessive.

Buying Extra Plots - Breaking Point

At Breaking Point you already begin with a large Campus building and the Breaking Point Beach for outdoor activities. In the main, as long as your planning is on point you can get away with just purchasing one extra plot at the start of Year 2 to house everything. It may not provide the most spacious facilities but money is tight here in the first three years so you need to spend carefully.

Plot No: Cost - Empty Cost - Buildings
2 $50k $60k
3 $55k $65k
4 $60k $70k
5 $60k $70k

The students at breaking Point just want to party. The harder they do, the more cash you make.
