Sooner or later (we’re looking at you Noblestead!) you are going to be set a challenge to get a Campus Star that involves getting your Campus Attractiveness rating up to a high amount - in this case, 75%.
After starting at it hovering around the 50s for hours while you build your campus you might, quite rightly, be thinking you are a) doing something wrong or b) bug. In truth it will be neither, you just won’t be doing enough.
Increasing Campus Attractiveness in Two Point Campus¶
Campus Attractiveness is based on how pretty things are - not in the way you might think, but in how many decorative items are in a particular vicinity.
You can, should you be so included, dump 1,000 Duck Hedges in a row and will score the same points as if you had cultivated them lovingly from seeds yourself.
What you might notice though is that improving a certain area with items will have a positive effect - for a time - before the percentage starts to annoyingly drop down again. This is caused in the main by things like litter which reduces the rating unless there is a janitor on hand to sweep it up fast or weeds on your lawns which also need to be dealt with.
What also happens, on this level as well, is that as you expand your campus, if you haven’t hit the 75% earlier on things start to get tougher as there is more of the Campus to make attractive. But how can you tell which areas need your attention? Let’s let you in on the easy way to sort it all out quickly.

How to get a higher Campus Attractiveness Rating¶
It would be really hand-right if the game had a mechanism to show you which areas it rates as attractive and those a right mess. Well here’s the good news, it does, it just hasn’t really taught you about it.
The first thing you need to do is click on the eye on your menu bar in the bottom left of the screen. This will give you access to a whole host of filters you might not even have bothered with today. Look for the little pink flower - this signifies attractiveness in the game.
If you click that your campus will have a color applied over the top so you can see areas of differing ratings. Basically, the greener it is, the better. Anywhere that is grey, the game things is unattractive so you need to work on those areas.
The game seems to take the overall area you occupy and work out with a percentage of what is poor and what isn’t it. Make sure your rooms have plenty of plants, rugs, and posters in them and are completely green - even rooms such as the bathroom and shower room need sorting out. To the point of it being ridiculous.
Outdoor spaces you can use flowers and planters and the like. The good news is, along as you stay away from things like fountains, it is cheap to get your whole map green. The downside is, that it might look a bit of a mess, but once you have unlocked the challenge you can always sell off the excess items.
Best items to increase attractiveness¶
If we are talking indoors then plants are great, you can scatter them about everywhere without things looking too stupid.
Rugs and posters are also solid go-to’s.
Outside wise fountains are great but very expensive so go for the flowers and planters. As long as you get that map to turn green you are all sorted.
