One of the side quests in the furthest south side of the map in Dragon’s Dogma 2 can be found at the Volcanic Island Camp and given to you by Lamond, who is sat by the hot springs. This strange fellow will ask you for a drink of Newt Liqueur and give you an egg in return, also asking you to find what he is looking for. Despite being pretty vague about what he wants, this quest isn’t too tricky to complete, but you might have to make a trip back north.
Here is what to do.
Give Lamond what he seeks¶
This step is incredibly vague in your quest log, as it isn’t clear if you need to find something else or give him more Newt Liqueur. Turns out you just need to get him more Newt Liqueur.
Newt Liqueur locations are relatively rare in the game, but by the time you reach the island, you should have one or two. If not, you can grab one from the Windwalker’s Home on the island. Three can be bought from Higgs’ Tavern in Bakbattahl. To access his shop, you will need a Beastren Mask from the Forgery in the Checkpoint Rest Town and to move the sandbags just outside the door into the pen in Bakbattahl. You will be invited in and can now buy the rest of the Liqueur.
From there, simply head back to the island, through Drabnir’s Grotto and hand the Newt Liqueur over. We suggest putting a Portcrystal location down on the island and in Bakbattahl if you haven’t already as the areas don’t have any fast travel points by default, so it is worth doing to allow yourself more fast travel flexibility in the south of the world map.
Upgraded gear, boosted stats, and a high-rank Vocation are all vital to be able to reach the island, so you might need to wait until you are later in the game. Once you hand the Liqueur to Lamond you will complete the quest and also unlock the Warfarer vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2, which is a unique class, allowing you to mix and match weapons and abilities from all the other vocations.
