Dragon’s Dogma 2 is one of the most anticipated games this year. Coming a decade after the original, the sequel is bigger, denser, and more expansive than fans could have imagined and many are hoping they will be able to check it out ahead of launch or get a taste before purchasing the full game.
But, will that be the case with a Dragon’s Dogma 2 demo, or is Capcom hoping players will drop $70 off the bat due to its pedigree and the beloved nature of the original game?
Is there a Dragon’s Dogma 2 demo?¶
Unfortunately, there isn’t a Dragon’s Dogma 2 demo available, so there isn’t a way to play the game early on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC ahead of its full release on March 22, 2024. Capcom hasn’t made any suggestions or teases either that a demo is on the way.
Capcom isn’t known for providing demos for all of its games, particularly some of the larger RPGs. Street Fighter 6 held several betas ahead of its launch, and the Resident Evil games usually drop a demo ahead of launch too. But titles like Monster Hunter and the original Dragon’s Dogma ahead of launch didn’t have any demos, so it seems unlikely that Dragon’s Dogma 2 will get one.
There is always a chance that the game could drop a demo in the months after launch if they are looking to boost the RPG’s sales. But, that isn’t guaranteed. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is shaping up to be an impressive RPG, four times the size of the original, and with tons of classes for you to choose from as you explore Vermund and Battahl. While you will be making that adventure on your own, due to there not being any Dragon’s Dogma 2 multiplayer, the fact there is only one save file will make each decision and choice a risky one that separates your playthrough from other players.
