You will face various bosses throughout your journey in Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising. Bosses in this game will have a life bar at the bottom of the screen, some of which will also have a shield gauge. This means that they will take no damage from you until their shield gauge has been depleted. This page will detail the attacks and strategies for the Hurstwine boss.
Where to Find Hurstwine¶
Hurstwine is a mandatory boss and will be found in the Runebarrows - Depths, particularly in the section that is past the point of no return. So, as you’re trying to wrap up the main story, you will find Hurstwine right before the final boss.
How to Defeat Hurstwine¶
Overall, this boss battle isn’t really all too difficult, especially once you isolate Hurstwine. Hurstwine is the leader of the bandits that you have been fighting up to this point. With this knowledge, of course he will have bandits during the battle itself. He starts with three of them and can summon more at any time. If you see a red line on your screen, then that means more bandits are about to join the battle, so it’s not an actual attack. It’s best to not worry too much about them, unless you can kill them swiftly, as your sole focus should be on Hurstwine. Moving on to his attacks, he has quite a few of them.
He has a dash attack that is similar to the one you do, where he tries to stab you. Hurstwine can also slam his sword into the ground, causing a shockwave that goes a decent distance. If you’re too close, you might see Hurstwine spin a dagger around; he can also throw this to your current location, so be wary of that. The most dangerous attack is probably when he jumps into the air, then tosses some daggers at you in a fan pattern. The fan pattern is why it’s dangerous, only because it can cover a wide area. If you’re close enough to the boss, then you can dash towards him to make it easier to dodge this attack.
None of Hurstwine’s attacks are going to be a major problem, as outside of the dash and the shockwave one, they are pretty slow and easy enough to dodge. Unless the normal bandits are bothering you, it’s best to leave them alone and solely concentrate on Hurstwine, as they might get jumbled into Link Attacks and taken out that way. Plus, there’s always the possibility that the boss will just summon more of them.
