You will face various bosses throughout your journey in Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising. Bosses in this game will have a life bar at the bottom of the screen, some of which will also have a shield gauge. This means that they will take no damage from you until their shield gauge has been depleted. This page will detail the attacks and strategies for the Lode Golem boss.
Where to Find the Lode Golem¶
The Lode Golem is the second boss of the game and resides in The Quarry. You will be forced to fight the creature during Main Quest 8: Defeat the Lode Golem. Unfortunately, you will have to make the trek from the beginning of the Quarry, since you don’t have a signpost further inside the area. Drop down the first pit, then head right into the next room. Here, you will want to drop down the next pit and you should be in a section with a bunch of Glowshrooms. Continue right, into the next screen and keep heading in that direction, until you eventually reach a large rock that requires Garoo. When you reach the room with the four exits (including the one used to enter), make your way to the bottom right one, which will take you to the room with the boss.
How to Defeat the Lode Golem Boss¶
The Lode Golem has some similarities to the Hollow Plant, except that it will never reveal its weak point on its own. That means you will have to work on getting the boss to reveal its weak spot. While you can go straight up to the boss and whack it with your weapon to reduce its armor, it’s best to play things a little smarter here. At times, the Lode Golem will launch a piece of its arm at you, which you can hit back at the boss with Garoo’s sword attack. Doing this will cause a good chunk of the shield meter to dissipate.
Another attack you will see is the Golem basically doing a kowtow-like motion, which will cause boulders to fall down from the ceiling. These rocks have a red line showing where they will fall, plus you can also knock these at the boss, similar to its arm. Once the boss’ shield meter has been depleted, it will fall over and the giant crystal will be exposed, which is the weak spot. Keep whacking it, with the knowledge that the boss will probably get back up, meaning you have to empty the shield meter once more. When you deliver the final blow, the fight will be over.
