This page offers a guide on how to craft a Torch in Grounded. Torches are important for being able to navigate during the nighttime. You’ll also need one for exploring caves. And they run out so you’ll have to continue making them!
How to Unlock the Torch Recipe¶
The Torch recipe can be unlocked by analyzing Sap at the Resource Analyzer. Once the recipe’s been unlocked, you can make them by hand! To equip a Torch, put it on your hotbar - you can hold a torch whilst also holding a tool or weapon, meaning you can go out in the evenings!
Required Materials for Crafting Torches¶
Icon | Material | Quantity |
---|---|---|
Sprig | x2 | |
Sap | x1 | |
Crude Rope | x2 | |
Dry Grass Chunks | x3 |
How to Get Sprigs¶
Sprigs are a medium-sized two leafed plant found in abundance in the yard. You can grab them from the ground without the use of any tool.
How to Get Sap¶
Sap is a sticky yellow goo that can be found all over branches, particularly around Oak Hill. You can also find lots of sap on the shelves in the Oak Lab.
Once you possess a hammer you can also obtain them from large globs of Sap. And later on, you could even make a Sap Catcher to collect sap from the comfort of your base!
How to Craft Crude Rope¶
Crude Ropes can be crafted by hand using x3 Plant Fiber per Crude Rope. Plant Fibers can be obtained from picking small, low-lying plants which can be found all over the ground. And before you can make Crude Rope, you’ll need to first analyze Plant Fiber at the Resource Analyzer to unlock the recipe.
How to Get Dry Grass Chunks¶
Dry Grass Chunks can be obtained through chopping Dry Grass blades. To chop down the Dry Grass, you’ll need an axe - head over to our guide on How to craft a Pebblet Axe for more information.
Later, you can also build a Jerky Rack and dry out Plant Fiber to make Dry Grass Chunks.
