Inside, you’ll find hidden item in the little alcove to your north (use the Dowsing MCHN to find it if you need). When you grab it, you’ll find it’s a Max Revive . Now head west. When the path splits into two, take the southern one and you’ll be challenged by a female Ace Trainer partway down it.
Trainer Battle: Ace Trainer¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Heatmor | 55 | Fire |
Galvantula | 55 | Bug/Electric |
Now move back around and head down the north of the two paths. Talk to the male Ace Trainer at the end to initiate a battle.
Trainer Battle: Ace Trainer¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Durant | 55 | Bug/Steel |
Ferrothorn | 55 | Grass/Steel |
Once he’s defeated, follow the path west. Head up the stairs. You’ll find yourself in the middle of four possible paths. Take the one south first and continue until you reach the exit to this area.
Victory Road - Outside¶
You’ll immediately be stopped by a female Backpacker who will ask if you’d like to battle
Trainer Battle: Backpacker¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Sawsbuck | 54 | Normal/Grass |
Head over the stream to the other side by using Surf . Grab the Escape Rope there then head back onto the water. If you haven’t already, we’d suggest teaching one of your Pokemon Waterfall so that you can explore bonus areas.
If you have a Pokemon with Waterfall, use it to head down the waterfall to your south. At the bottom of the waterfall, follow the stream east and continue following it until you reach the very end. You’ll find a cave there. Move onto the ground and enter the cave.
Victory Road - Cave Ruins¶
You’re back in the first area, but you can take on trainers that you couldn’t before. Move down the steps to your south and head out onto the water. Head south until you reach the point where the paths split, one leading west and one south.
The west path is blocked off, so head south and continue under the bridge. Keep going until you reach some ground at the very end that you can move onto. Head up the stairs and take on the two Veterans here, in a double battle!
Double Battle: Veteran and Veteran¶
Male trainer’s party
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Braviary | 55 | Normal/Flying |
Carracosta | 55 | Water/Rock |
Female trainer’s party
Once the Veteran couple are defeated, move east then turn around and head up the stairs taking you west. At the end is TM93 - Wild Charge patiently waiting for you to pick it up. Do so, then head back east and jump over the ledge. There’s a Psychic circling a hole in the floor. Move over and take him on!
Trainer Battle: Psychic¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Metang | 54 | Steel/Psychic |
Cofagrigus | 54 | Ghost |
Continue north from the Psychic, past the large crack taking up all but the very eastern side of the path. Head up to where the Ace Trainer is and take her on.
Trainer Battle: Ace Trainer¶
Now head south, then east over the ledge. You can now head back outside to your south to heal your Pokemon at the Pokemon Center . Now head all the way back to the part of Victory Road where there is the intersection with the four paths to choose from.
This time, take the western stairs. Head south-west and over to a suspicuous rock. Check it to find a Full Restore . As usual, use your Dowsing MCHN if you need helping finding it (That’s what it’s there for!). Continue heading west until you reach the Veteran near an exit to the cave.
Trainer Battle: Veteran¶
Head through the doorway to the exterior of the cave!
Victory Road - Outside¶
Head east through the Dark Grass here. Grab the Max Repel at the southern tip then snake your way back and forth down the stairs. You’ll eventually reach an Ace Trainer who, naturally, wants to battle.
Trainer Battle: Ace Trainer¶
Once he’s defeated, head down the steps and out onto the water using Surf . Head south to the shore there. Move onto it, up the stairs, through the Dark Grass and through the trees into the forest.
Victory Road - Forest¶
Take the western-most of the three paths leading south. Follow it through the Tall Grass to the small tree at the end. Use Cut on it and continue through the Dark Grass down to the Full Restore at the bottom. Collect it then move back north to the entrance.
This time take the eastern path south and allow yourself to battle the Ace Trainer here.
Trainer Battle: Ace Trainer¶
Pokemon | Level | Type |
---|---|---|
Darmanitan | 55 | Fire |
Tangrowth | 55 | Grass |
Head into the Dark Grass to your east and head north-east through it to the end, where an item resides. It’s a lovely little Ultra Ball . Pick it up, head back through the Dark Grass and continue south. You’ll reach some steps back down to the first cave of Victory Road.
There’s actually nothing else to do in this area, so you can backtrack if you want or head through the cave and backtrack from there. This walkthrough will assume that you’ll backtrack by taking the cave. Head inside.
Victory Road - Cave Ruins¶
Head south over the bridge. You’ll see a boulder here. Use Strength to first push it west so that you can move around and be able to push it south. Push it two tiles west, then one tile south, then push it east until it’s just north of the hole. Push it south into it.
Now head east over the bridge, then south until you reach the ledge to your east. Jump over it. You can now head back outside to your south and heal yourself at the Pokemon Center . Once you’re ready, head back through Victory Road until you reach the point where there’s a four-way intersection.
Victory Road - Cave¶
This time, take the one path leading north at the intersection. There are two boulders up here, but only the eastern one can be pushed into a hole. Do so, by using Strength. Now head over it and enter the nearby door. Inside it’s pitch black and you can only see a slight distance around you.
You should have a TM that teaches Flash from the back alleys of Castelia City . If you teach this move to a Pokemon and get them to use it like a HM, the area can be illuminated and you can navigate with much greater ease. Feel free to teach this to a Pokemon and get them to use it.
Now, head west, then north past the stairs. To your east you’ll see an item tucked away here. Grab it to find that it’s a magnificent PP Max ! Head back to the stairs and move up them. The first rock at the top of the stairs contains a Red Shard that you can collect by interacting with it.
Head further east and move down the set of stairs. Use Surf and head out onto the water. Move to the ground at the north-eastern corner of the body of water and jump onto it. Use your Dowsing MCHN to find the hidden Max Elixir here. Surf back to the main area.
Head west and move north up the set of stairs. Follow the path around and exit the cave.
