Xbox fans may be feline a little left out (okay, sorry, that’s the only one, purr-omise - ack, can’t help myself) with the news that Stray is in fact, may not ever be available on Xbox Game Pass. But what do we know so far? Is it, will it? Why won’t it? Let’s find the answers to all of those questions right now.
Is Stray on Xbox Game Pass?¶
At the time of launch Stray is nowhere to be found on Game Pass. With the game being tied to PS Plus and that particular subscription system, well that may well be a reason why PC owners will have to shell out for a copy of the game on Steam - fortunately, it’s not too expensive but many PC players without access to a PlayStation might be miffed by the fact it is going to cost them money as the result of “console wars”.
Xbox owners meanwhile have no option to play the game as it appears to be some kind of timed exclusive at least for PlayStation and PC.
Will Stray come to Xbox Game Pass?¶
Potentially. Publishers Annapurna (seem I typed Purr without a cat joke, I am growing as a person for sure!) will bring the game to Xbox’s huge audiences once any exclusive has run down.
We certainly would not be surprised to see Stray appear on Game Pass but it will surely be next year before it does, as even a six-month exclusive at this stage of the year takes us into 2023.
In the meantime then, if you want to play Stray your options are limited to purchasing it on Steam for your PC, or getting involved with a PS Plus subscription to play it for “free”.
Either way, it’s certainly well worth picking up!
