How to Get Padding in Enshrouded

By
Craig Robinson

Padding is a material in Enshrouded that players will need to get as they aim to craft the highest tier of gear in the game. However, the crafting materials required to get Padding require some extra steps to get, making it one of the most resource-intensive materials in the game. Here’s everything you need to know to get Padding in Enshrouded.

It is time to set up your Loom and Spinning Wheel, as mass producing Linen and Fabric is key to crafting Padding in Enshrouded.

How to Make Padding in Enshrouded

To get Padding in Enshrouded, players are going to need to speak to the Hunter and craft it themselves. To do so, you need the following materials:

  • 3x Fabric
  • 1x Leather
  • 2x Resin
  • 3x Linen

Fabric is the late-game material for this set, where players will need to complete a quest for the Hunter by going east of Lapis and acquiring the Loom. The Loom will then be able to turn Linen into Fabric. Meanwhile, Linen is a material you should be able to craft since you completed the Hunter’s quests in Revelwood. And yes, this means you will need a rather large stockpile of Flax to make both the Linen and the Fabric you need for each Padding craft in Enshrouded. We have a few Flax locations that can give a decent amount of Flax to path through, alongside some farming tips to support your end-game armor crafts.

Outside of that, you need Leather and Resin. Resin is easy to get, but its random drop chance is slightly annoying. Simply chop down some trees in the Springlands, and you’ll find it passively as it is a random chance drop from trees. Meanwhile, Leather will require the player to turn their Animal Fur into Dry Fur at a Drying Rack, and then use ten Dried Fur alongside 20 Salt and 2 Ammonia Glands to create Ten Leather at the Tanning Station.

When you get all of the required materials and resources, you can now craft Padding at the Hunter in your base.

When you have all the materials, you can now return to the Hunter, and then craft Padding. Padding is used in almost every end-game armor set from all other crafters. The amount of Padding needed ranges from 1-5 Padding per item, depending on each specific part. Most pieces only require 1-2 pieces, but some of the Chest pieces, like Assassin and Warlock, will require 4-5. You can see why we recommended getting the Spinning Wheel and following our Flax and Linen Guide now.

With that said, you’ll be on track to crafting your Padding in Enshrouded. Good luck getting the amount you need for your build to find its peak performance and then go and wreak havoc across the Kindlewaste Sun Temple dungeons and other big bosses as you complete the early access end game.

Enshrouded is a survival game where you play the role of a Flameborn, the last hope of a dying race of Ancients and their Human allies. You’re one of the few beings who can withstand the deadly Shroud, which smothers much of the land as a pathogenic fungi. As you seek to destroy the Shroud you’ll encounter monstrous enemies that are born from it, but also other types in the form of Scavenger bandits, the Vukah warrior clan, and more. Whether you choose to focus on building your dream base, defeating some of the most difficult bosses, or exploring whimsically to your heart’s content, this guide covers all of it with the following sections:
