Enshrouded

How to Make a Glider

By
Craig Robinson

The world of Enshrouded is a beautifully hand-crafted map, filled with valleys, hills, cliffs, and pits to explore. For the most part, you’ll be using a mixture of grappling hooks, climbing, walking, and gliding to reach various areas of the game. In fact, one of the first tasks you complete is to make a Glider, which will allow you to take advantage and reach the distant regions and areas in the game. A Glider can be crafted from Shroud Wood, Animal Fur, String, and Shroud Spores.

How to Craft a Glider in Enshrouded

To craft a Glider, you need a Workbench and the following resources:

  • Shroud Wood x8
  • Animal Fur x2
  • String x2
  • Shroud Spores x2

To get Shroud Wood, players will need to enter the Shroud directly below the bridge north of Longkeep. This is the earliest place you can go where you won’t die to the Shroud and still find trees to chop down. Go towards the broken bridge, then take a winding path down towards the right-hand side if you’re facing the entrance to the bridge. You’ll find a natural winding road leading straight down to some trees. Chop down enough to get eight Shrouded Wood and you’re done.

(1 of 3) Go to a Workbench and gather the following items to Craft a Glider in Enshrouded.

While you’re in the Shroud, you can go ahead and kill the enemies here too. They should only be level 1 when you beat them and they drop a range of Shroud Spores. You only need two, so pick them up while you’re here. If you need other areas to farm them, feel free to go into the Shrouded areas of Longkeep reunion and the one to the east of Longkeep in the field. You should find at least four across both Shrouded spots.

The next task is to go and grab some String. You can find this via chests, smashing destructible objects, or finding them on props around bases. Go to Longkeep and smash some crates and barrels for some chances at looting String. Alternatively, go to the fields and pick up Plant Fiber from eligible bushes. You need three Plant Fibers to create one String from the manual crafting menu, which you can access by pressing ‘V’ on the inventory screen.

While in the field, we recommend crafting a Bow or Magic Wand and go hunting for some of the Rabbits and Goats that spawn in the field and around the ruins of Longkeep. Hunt them and they should drop the Animal Fur you need. Once you have the items, go to the crafting table, which you can create from the Manual Crafting Menu once again. Place it down and craft yourself a Glider.

You can later improve your Gliding capabilities by improving your stamina buffs, such as drinking Water. Alternatively, there are talents you can select in the Skills menu, such as the Updraft skill, located between the Trickster and Assassination lines. This allows you to jump a little extra while on the Glider once per flight to get further height and distance. You can also use the Double Jump between the Survivor and Athlete skill trees.

And there you have it, you are now free to glide and explore the game’s verticality safely.

Enshrouded is a survival game where you play the role of a Flameborn, the last hope of a dying race of Ancients and their Human allies. You’re one of the few beings who can withstand the deadly Shroud, which smothers much of the land as a pathogenic fungi. As you seek to destroy the Shroud you’ll encounter monstrous enemies that are born from it, but also other types in the form of Scavenger bandits, the Vukah warrior clan, and more. Whether you choose to focus on building your dream base, defeating some of the most difficult bosses, or exploring whimsically to your heart’s content, this guide covers all of it with the following sections:
